yankees
Yes Powell played at South Doyle Saturday. Defense for the panthers looked good when starters played. Pitchers looked pretty good. Looked young. Offense the CF Green went 4-6 with single, single, double, triple. They are also without solid SS Sandford until Basketball ends. South Doyle looked impressive as well. Good pitching. Kirkland hit one a mile like always and had a few more hits as well. It was a back and fourth game. Hard to say who won with all the young arms and faces getting some innings also. All around a good day of baseball for both clubs. Any more scrimmages around?? I'd like to see as many teams as possible before season kicks off.
sportsfreak2307
South Doyle beat Halls 1-0 last night in 9 innings. Halls had 1 hit and SD with 2-3 hits. Central beat Gibbs last night with a high scoring game. Not exactly sure about the score. Starting pitchers were good for Central. Bats looked good at times. Gibbs did help with some errors, but that is too be expected with a young team like Gibbs has. Gibbs pitchers through pretty good too. I believe Central used 5 different pitchers and Gibbs threw 9 pitchers (1 inning each). The first three Central pitchers were gunned in the 80-82 mph range fairly consistently. Nice crowd for a scrimmage game though. I can't wait to see what the new grandstand will look like when completed.
