I have a question but don't bite my head off after I ask it. If next year they say we want to have Region finals at LA are you still going to push fro them to be held at Tech?

Abby loo, where have you been????

Great point. I dont think the person asking the question was trying to suggest anything except for being able to put more butts in the seats, but if it were up to me this is what I would do:

Districts played at HS gyms. MUST Rotate among ALL of the schools in the district.

Regionals played at College gyms.

Substate played at the Boro. (eh, this probably doesnt work...but make this on college campuses. Just trying to mix it up so that Regionals and Substate is not played in the same gym)

States at Vandy.

But that is just my thoughts.

I think all other schools (except maybe UHS) were OK with moving it Tech (a couple of weeks ago).

I have been busy. You weren't on here a few weeks ago, where have you been Gator?LOL /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

I was replying to the comment about "except maybe UHS". I know that TTU has a lot more room and would probably be the smart choice but would LA fans be so quick to move the venue if it were to be held at Livingston? I was just asking up2late a question. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

I have only seen the last LA/Upperman game and I do not think that LA is the better team. Upperman played as poorly as I have seen them play in a while and only lost by 9 and had many chances to take the game from LA. Baxter did not play well, Christian did not play well, and Taylor sat the bench in foul trouble for most of the 2nd half. Granted both teams are really good, however, I feel that Upperman is the better team, when they play well. Just an opinion. Don't crucify me for it. I look for a rematch in the Region Finals and expect it to be as good as the last one. I think Coach McWilliams finds a way to slow down Jenkins and gets past Station Camp in the Semis. I say slow down, Jenkins probably still goes for 30+. Coach McWilliams found a way to beat the Corey Brewer Portland team a few years ago and he does it again this year against Station Camp.

You and I might be a little biased towards our team wouldn't you say 'PressureD'. And it's all just a matter of opinions anyway. You know I could say why I thought LA lost at Upperman or what if Christian hadn't got hot at LA and kept them from getting beat pretty soundly. Or why the Bee fans kept saying wait till we get LA on a neutral floor. But it's all just talk makes no difference. It's a new day and hopefully the Bees will get their chance to prove that they are the better team.

I have popping in and out here, but Ive been trying to keep a lower profile now since most people know who I am, where I sit, and all that good stuff. Trying to keep some crazed LA or JC fan from knocking me in the back of the head during a game!! hahaha

And there are certain subjects that Im not allowed to talk about because I am officially connected to a certain university (through my alumni membership) and they are officially recruiting a certain kid on the team..... /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> ....so, Im just trying to be careful!!!

I still have plenty of opinions, hahaha, but trying to stay out of TOOO MUCH trouble. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

well dunn did not play to the best of his ability, nor west, nor ramsey. we can make excuses and all of that, but it is over so why go back to the last game? livingston in my opinion is better than them and i dont see that changin within the next couple weeks.

I go back to the last game because that is the only one that I saw. I am not making excuses. LA was the better team Tuesday night. They had a lot to do with why those players that I mentioned did not play well. They are a great team. Just in my opinion, when Upperman plays well, they are the better team. Just an opinion, a little biased opinion.

'Abby~loo' I am a real big fan of LA sports teams since I graduated from LA back in the day. It's just a name I came up with and by no means does it mean that I'm clever. I just enjoy watching all our teams compete with other schools regardless what sport happens to be in season.

Abby~loo....don't let Rocking Chair play off with modesty. He's not too old and clever as they come. And a great guy!

Now bigdad I appreciate the prop but my opinions are just that and they don't mean a thing. Couldn't even get a doughnut or a cup of coffee on what I know. What's it looking like for your next game ?? Soon I hope

I'm in favor of a change of venue for several reasons.

#1 - Seating (DUH).

#2 - Security (There seems to be a need for extra men in uniforms when opposing crowds are forced to sit as closely as they have to at UHS.)

#3 -Neutrality (DUH).

I understand Upperman's desire to keep the tournament. Who wouldn't want it on their home court? It doesn't seem fair, though, to all other 7AA teams who might want to have the tournament in their back yard. We use different gyms when its 8AA's turn to host the region. BTW, I've seen LA's gym. It seats more, than UHS's - I see no problem with it being there if they had a turn at hosting. The thing is TSSAA says let 8AA rotate gyms - but for 7AA - keep it at Tech or UHS?? Again, that seems unfair to all in 7AA (except maybe UHS).

In my opinion, (and I'm entitled to mine) - if Tech's gym is available (and I believe it is) - it makes more sense, for all involved, to have the tournament there. But I had heard that ALL teams in both districts had to agree to the change. I think at least one didn't vote for the change. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Sounds good to me. But you know Bobby will never vote to move it. It will just bother him that much worse when LA wins it anyways... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
