So putting the top 3 teams in A on one side of the bracket is "fair"??Temple sleepwalking into the finals is "fair"??

 

Seeding based on performance would be "fair"...Make teams earn their placement in the tourney...It really just makes the most sense..

 

Even if Humboldt was in Temple's position, I'd still have a big problem with it...Manassas and Grace are getting a raw deal here too...

 

Well said Red. I'd like to know what the odds are of Humboldt and Manassas being the first two teams drawn. It is what it is though and Humboldt knows what it has to do now. Prepare and be focused.......GO VIKINGS!

Heck, I'm just ticked because I CANNOT go on WED. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" The one game I wanted to see....I thought surely no way would they draw the first game /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I dunno whether to laugh or cry over this.

The blind draw is fair...having the "best" 2 teams on the same side of the bracket us unlucky.

 

And i don't believe Temple is assuming a cakewalk right now.

 

 

Temple's Coach must have did some serious praying last night...They couldn't have gotten a better draw than they did this morning..

 

The main reason I have a problem with this: Temple is more than likely not going to be one of the two best teams up there...Humboldt and Manassas should both be better and Grace Baptist has proven that they are better....So, theoretically the fourth best A team in the state could be playing for the state title and would not have to beat any of the three teams that are better to get there...They'd have to play one game against a team that is better than them and that's in the championship game..The road there for Temple is a joke if you ask me...Summertown MIGHT give them a game but I doubt it...

Temple's coach probably did some "serious praying" last year and drew eventual champion Union City. God has a sense of humor.

 

I agree with you that a seeding system would make things more exciting, and possibly more fair.

lol! nah! Summertown won't give them a game! They only beat Eagleville by 10! They do have a cakewalk though, dlo was at the drawing and he text me right when they drew the manassas and humboldt first. He said the entire crowd there was whispering and talking about it. The draw is VERY random (obviously) and they should do it by their seeding in the State Rankings. We can complain about it all day long, but they're not going to change it so I'm not even going to try.

 

Good morning red, i just left the draw and decided to come out of retirement after seeing the draw frist hand! wow.....

I wasn't even going to be able to make it up there until Thursday...Now, I'm going to have to figure something out in order to get up there...I think it is hilarious that not only did they put us against each other in the 1st round, but the 1st game of the tournament, 10:00 Wednesday morning...Not sure how I'm going to be able to pull this off..

Retirement, break it's all the same to me. Anyway, hey on selection sunday they should go ahead and pair north carolina and uconn and pitt and louiville on the first day so we can go ahead and get it over with right?????

 

 

Who's your favorite in the tournament??

 

I really like Memphis (best defensive team in the country) but I think UConn is going to win it all..

Don't feel alone...I can't pull it off....I REALLY wanted to see this matchup....I am not a happy camper.

      20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year

      As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.

      I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.

      I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
