Every State Tourney that I have attended has been like this. It seems that the refs only know to call charge and not the blocking call. I hope White Station and RE get the memo before tomorrow because their guards will be coming to the goal at every opportunity. The players and coaches for all teams will need to adjust

I agree. I've seen at least some portion of the last 6 Boys' State Tourneys and I must admit that it appears the TSSAA has placed an emphasis on offensive fouls, i.e. charges vs. blocks. I witnessed the same thing last week in the Girls' games that I attended. As a matter of fact, a called charge (that was actually a block) directly affected the outcome of a game.

Speaking as a uninterested, TSSAA patch-wearing spectator of the Humboldt-Manassas game, all the charges were spot on. Manassas would set up for at least 2 seconds and would be promptly run over. The officials did a great job of in that game. It was good to see a Region 3 official out there making his association look good.

I thought most of the charges were "spot on" also. I just thought there were an unusual amount considering how few there seem to be in Chattanooga. In one game, I thought I saw maybe 7 or 8 charges and I thought only about 1 of them was a wrong call.
