Does the junior year include the playoffs. i was just wondering where he was ranking in the all time career pass leaders. i believe the record is over 10,000 yards

Shadow, your comment about all-time passing leaders in TN got me thinking. I found the all-time stats leaders in Tennessee High School Football History on the TSSAA Website. Some amazing numbers on this list, DeKalb's QB Hunter Poteete should already be on some of these lists for last years achievements. And will definitely be on more when its all said and done. I have listed a few categories he should already be on or could possibly be on at end of his senior season.

DeKalb County Senior QB Hunter Poteete's Stats prior to the 09' season

Freshman Year; See note below

Sophmore Year 07'; (1,646 yards) Poteete had 1,646 yards on 206 attempts. He completed 114 passes for an average of 14.4 yards per completion, with a 55.3 completion percentage.

Junior Year 08'; (2,775 Yards) Poteete completed 177-of-320 attempts for 2,775 yards with 37 touchdowns. He carried the ball 202 times for 892 yards with 9 touchdowns.

Scout.com had his Career stats (prior to '09 season)as this: 4,680 yards passing and 49 touchdowns; rushing 1,370 yards and 14 touchdowns. So you can do some adding and subtracting to get his Freshman numbers.

This is just a fraction of the statistical categories listed on the TSSAA website. Go to the website listed above to see complete list of statistical leaders in the history of Tennessee High School Football.

***There is an email address, a phone number, and a state record form at the top of this webpage for entries to be sent in. Not sure if DeKalb coaches are aware of this, might be waiting for his career to end before submitting entry, but its there to send the information into TSSAA. ***

I know the DeKalb players and coaching staff are not, and should not, be concerned about individual stats. They are focused on winning and becoming a better team. I posted this for the fans to take a look at and understand some of the recent accomplishments by the DeKalb County Football Team.

As I said before, great job, D1talent, for producing the stats and keeping everyone informed.

I also want to congratulate our coaches and players for getting the job done against Oneida. They fought hard but so did we. I know Oneida will be ready for a win over Wartburg next week and I bet they get it.

It's great to see some of our previously injured players return to the field. They really helped earn the win.

I expect DC to get stronger the next few weeks and anticipate a great game against Smith Co. Who else is feelin' it?

That game is 3 weeks away. Lets make sure we get to that point at 3-1 while improving on some certain things along the way. I believe everyone knows what those things are.

So true, D1, starting with Cannon Co. BTW, the video clip of Cannon Co. vs Spring Hill is about 39 minutes long, not 15. It was interesting. Thanks for the post. Here's a few sites with the recap of Cannon Cos. game last week against West Creek:

Yea dont let the score surprise you. It was West Creek's first ever football game. Got a feeling our wide receivers we get some balls thrown their way on offense and defense in this game. Cannon probably feeling pretty good after throwing 4 first half TD passes. Predicting at least a couple big interception returns by DC in this game.

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
