I wasn't crazy about the band playing while Oneida's offense was running plays or the "Injure the Injuns" poster. I will say neither affected the game or the players in any way but personally I would have preferred those things been different, but I seriously doubt anyone involved with the football team directs the band, made the signs, or pushes the button on the horn. I'd say those things are why most folks put advantage after home when discussing a games location. I'm not trying to talk bad of the DC football program, I really enjoyed that game. Great football atmosphere, friendly staff, great fans, & a talented football team. Don't see how anyone can ask for much more than that on Friday night. Best of luck DC from here on out & see y'all next year on the reservation . . . I think?

Well you can't control what the bands do.. i'm pretty sure you will play another team this year that does the same thing. But good luck and hope yall finish with a great season

And they're good enough to hold you to three, punk. I'll gladly give you my number if you want to call me up and talk crap, might even travel to DeKalb to talk stats with you, because your ignorant, big headed rear end is getting on my nerves. Just ask for that number.

King why do you have to do so much hating on DeKalb. Everyone knows DeKalb has been a horrible team since forever but now there finally turning it around. And i will take the bet that Smith Co will not hold DeKalb to 3 points or less. I'm not saying DeKalb will win but they will score more than 3 points but also Smith will score a lot more than 10

Patriot, you know that whistle was never blown while Cannon was at the line of scrimmage. It might have been blown directly after a big defensive play by DeKalb, or after an incomplete pass by Cannon. But never when Cannon was lined up on the ball, and that is a fact.

You are complaining about the personal foul penalties on the other thread, complaining about the train whistle on this thread. A couple more excuses patriot and you might have yourself believing Cannon actually won this game.

But for what it is worth patriot. We will try and not be so mean over in Smithville the rest of the year. :thumb:

Most of though personal foul penalties were bogus.. however i knew the flag was coming when DeKalb got the interception i watched that one kid all the way threw the play and saw him hit the quaterback. And im sure you did hear the horn after some of DeKalb's Defensive plays i think they had 5 total int that counted if im correct? D1 im sure you will know. I think it was #13 had 2. Edwards had one Johnson had 1 and the little short kid had one on the 2 point conversation if they all counted but i dont know help me out D1

The reason I'm "hating" on DeKalb is mainly for the fact that you have no tradition, and now, after one good/great year, people such as stat man get on here, and make them sound as if they are totally unstoppable and are going to win this whole region with ease. I'm proud they are turning it around, but I think it is ignorant to keep telling people about it. Just play the game.

D1talent... as you've been told many times before, you do a great job with your posts. They are very informative. I hope you continue. Those that get annoyed by it, move on to another thread. After all, as stated in the subject line, this thread is about "Dekalb Co. football" and the excitement on our recent successes and anticipated future successes are hard to contain. This county has come alive and we're building our football program from junior pro up. Many of us are putting our time and money into it. I've seen the positives in kids lives, their discipline, their attitudes with school and their relationships with their parents and teachers all grow. So let's play ball, talk about it and have fun. It's all good. I love it when they play 'Back in Black' by AC/DC before a game. That's one tradition I hope don't change.

Will make this short. I have never said unstoppable, never said win the region with ease. And lastly isnt the whole basis of coacht for people to talk about their teams. Move on King we have heard enough.

Good win over a 5A White Co. team on Homecoming. White Co. came in with a good game plan. Run, run, run all night, kept the ball in their offenses hands and out of DeKalb's for majority of 1st Half. DeKalb scored 2 TD's in the first half but only had 3 offensive possessions. Went into the half tied at 14 - 14.

Second half DeKalb stepped up the defense, started getting stops, also got a fumble recovery. Then DeKalb's offense went to work and came out with the 20 point victory.

DeKalb now hits the road. They will not play another home game until Oct. 16.

    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
