bbb
McCallie Netters Stay Unbeaten It was Senior Day at the McCallie-Ensworth tennis match on Friday and Tornado seniors responded with an 8-0 triumph against their Nashville opponents. McCallie coach Eric Voges could have played ???Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head'' (B.J. Thomas; #1 January 1970) before the match, as the inclement weather pushed the players to the indoor courts at the John Strang Tennis Center. Nonetheless, the Blue and White improved to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the East/Middle Region and extended its home win streak to 35 straight. Ensworth is 6-5 overall and 2-3 in region play. Seniors recognized prior to the match were William Disterdick, Thomas Fanjoy, Ryan O'Boyle, Taylor Rogers, Chris Schlabach, Clay Shepherd, Sawyer Voges and Nathan Winters. Region Show Down: McCallie faces its toughest test of the season next Wednesday (May 6) at 4 p.m. as it hosts Knox. Webb (11-1, 3-0) for the top spot in region. The top five teams in the East/Middle and the top three in the West in TSSAA Division II-AA advance to the state quarterfinals. Webb is led by defending state singles champion Brandon Fickey.
