I most definitely paid for my kids camp.

In both a team camp and individual camp it is the responsibility of the camper to pay the camp fees. Schools may provide transportation to camp, but cost of the camp is left to the camper. It IS a violation of TSSAA rules for the school to pay the cost for the camper.

What are the penalties for violating this rule?

The school can pay the team fee. Each camper needs to pay the individual fee.

However, almost all schools get around this rule by using "booster club" money to pay for team and individual camps. This is not a penatly as long as the check doesn't come from the school.

The same rule applies to schools that feed their teams before games. The stuff is "donated" or payed for by the booster club.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
