I believe he is the son of Dennis Payne...from Cosby.

But seriously...I believe he played soccer at LMU

So when did he graduate from LMU? Couldn't find anything on LMU website about him.

Is he also going to be teaching at Seymour?

Heard there is a meeting today at 1 at First Baptist. Bad timing since a lot of the players are working summer jobs and parents are at work. Should have scheduled after work hours or on Saturday.

I'm sorry, that's pretty much all that I know. Anybody on here make it to the meeting? How'd it go?

You know, it was the new coach's first day meeting the girls and he wanted to be able to meet everybody he could in person the first day--players, parents whoever could be there since he was going to be working with them. It wasn't some kind of formal press conference with interviews in the Mountain Press like the big schools do, just a chance to meet whomever could be there. There will be a better chance to meet and greet coming up in the next few weeks when folks can get some dates on a calendar.

The players seem to be excited about what Drew is bringing to our program. This is going to be a great year in both the girls and boys seasons, so get behind this young coach!! I think the administration at Seymour High School, along with the Sevier Co Board of Education have gone out of their way to work hard to bring in top-notch candidates for this job and been supportive toward making this work for these student-athletes.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
