compusatman
If the Spread R/O is so successful in HS and college why does the NFL by and large shunn athletes with experience in this offense. Why do NFL teams not embrace the Spread in preference to more traditional under center offenses?
1new_wildcat_fan
because they are not going to pay the QB's the amount of money they are paying them now and let them get hit every down and end up getting hurt. Plus the speed of the NFL. Yes you have some speed in HS and College but usually not at every position. Who knows it may come around but it is just like the triple option. A very good offense but your QB is going to get hit almost every play. Not many field generals around to take that kind of beating. The average career for a RB in NFL is maybe 5 -6 years tops. And I believe I am being a little high in my estimation. That is about the time a QB really starts to learn how to play the game at the NFL level. just my thoughts.
