I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE THAT BUTLER AND THE GIBSON CO TEAM WERE A VERY GOOD BASKETBALL TEAM . PROBABLY THE BEST IN THE STATE REGARDLESS OF CLASSIFICATION . WE ALL KNOW THAT THEY ONLY LOST 2 STARTERS . SOUTH GREENE ONLY LOST 2 STARTERS TO . IM SURE THEY WILL HAVE ANOTHER GREAT YEAR , HOPE SO . IM SURE TO ALOT OF GIBSON CO FANS IT LOOKED LIKE YOU OWNED SG THAT DAY , AND YOU DID . SG HAD A REALLY BAD GAME , THE WORST I HAD SEEN , SOME OF THE TURNOVERS WERE FROM DEFENSIVE PRESSURE BUT ALOT WERE NOT , JUST SILLY MISTAKES THAT WERE VERY UNCHARACTERISTIC OF SG. BUT GO AHEAD AND ENJOY THE HYPE YOU DESERVED IT. I BELEIVE SG WILL BE BETTER THIS YEAR. DYE IS A GREAT COMPETITOR AND SHES A WINNER . FOR 9 YEARS IVE WATCHED THIS KID ADD SOMETHING TO HER GAME EVERY YEAR THAT MAKES HER BETTER. I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT IS THIS YEAR . BE CAREFUL GC WITH THE HYPE OR WHAT SHE AND HER TEAMMATES MAY ADD IS A 5TH GOLD BALL TO THE TROPHY CASE . NOT TO GET AWAY FROM THE QUESTION AT HAND , YES I SAW BUTLER ALL 3 GAMES AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT AND SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST IVE SEEN . LOVE TO HAVE HER, WHO WOULDNT . GOOD LUCK LADY REBELS

Good post greeneco. Gibson Co. is thrilled about last years state championship. We realize this is a new year and we are all hoping for another gold ball, of course. I'm not taking anything for granted this year. Everytime I hear someone talk about GC winning the gold ball this year, I remind them of Marshall Co. losing to Hume Fogg this past year after Marshall Co. won the state championship and practically returned their whole team this past year. I hope we can make it back-to-back championships and it's possible. Butler is most definately one of the top PG's in the state, reguardless of what anyone says. I hope we do see South Greene again in the state tournaments. Good Luck!!!!

Butler is probably the 2nd best pg in the state behind Avant. Dye would be in the top 5-6. Tennessee is loaded with good pg's this year. GC has all the makings of another gold ball but you never know just look at Marshall Co. GC lost their coach and graduated two good ones, plus teams will bring their best night in and night out to knock off the best. Very well could see a GC SG rematch if things work out they way they should.

Alyson Roberts # 11 For the Upperman Lady Bees. Ran the point for scorers Davis,Maynard and Dyer. Always draws the toughest defensive assignment whether they're 6'5" or 5'4". It's time for more than running the show this year it's time to score. Watch as the year progresses and see the total underrated package!

You left out that she played all last season with extream pain in her shoulder. She looks good after the surgery. And, yes she has been underrated.

I hate to say it, but Heather Butler is in the top 3 point guards in the state. She's no way at #6. That might be just the fact that you saw her very little last year besides the state tournaments. Heather Butler owned Rachelle Dye in the state tournaments. Dye had 11 points compared to Butlers 32 in the game in the state tournaments. Guess who guarded Dye in that game? Heather Butler. Dye had 8 turnovers in that game as well compared to Butler's 2 turnovers. Rachelle Dye was 3-11 from the floor in the game compared to Butlers 13-25 shooting. By these stats, when those 2 played each other, Butler looks like the better player.

I disagree. This was on of Rechelle's worst games. Yeah Butler was better this game, but when your down and your team is giving up, your gonna play bad. Plus, Butler is more a scoring point guard. College point guards arent big scorers. Rechelle is a great passer. In a close game i feel, these two would be fairly even.

And if Rechelle kept the ball most the time like Butler, she too would be droppin 30 and 40 a game no doubt. She passes the ball tho.

LOL, Butler keeping the ball most of the time? That's normally what your star PG's do setting up the offense and setting up players for open shots etc... Butler averaged nowhere close to 30 or 40 a game last year even though she is capable of doing it. Butler averaged around 17-18 PPG and I'd bet money on it she averaged anywhere from 6-8 assists per game last year as well. As noted, Butler is receiving interest from some pretty solid D1 schools.

Gibson Co.'s championship last year was a team effort overall. No one was able to consistently stop Butler, Griffin, and Reedy. No one will be able to consistently stop the 3 again this year! :roflol:

Keep talking Gibson County, you can not even come close to South Greene's tradition and as for Rechelle she has some solid D1 schools as well and Heather Butler I love to watch you play, you are a great one and I also think Rechelle Dye is a great one as well. I hope to see you in March. God Bless

Since when did tradition matter in basketball? Unless your Shelbyville.... :popcorneater:

The only thing I know about South Greene is ya'll beat us a few years back and we beat ya'll last year. That's the only tradition I know about with South Greene. The rest is irrelevant to me.

I've had 2 unbiased people send me a private message on here. Both have told me I was right. They both have watched Butler and Dye play. Thanks and have a great day!!!

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
