Well without size on the line its hard run anything.

Very True barb!!!!!!

Even when I played MANY years ago, our tackles would be 245 lbs or more.

Bearden's tackles weighed in the 270+ range

:D I think one of Jeff-Co's starting tackles weighs about 190lbs according to who I saw in their lineup Friday and numbers match from Prep-xtra.com :roflolk:

Oh yea, Sevier County has one boy listed at 6’6 380lbs as a senior. That’s some crazy stuff if not a type-o

Go Patriots!!

Look, I am at the game every friday and believe it or not, the FANS make a difference. They give a team that boost they need on for a defensive stand or to keep an offensive drive going. The players cheer, the Riot cheers, but you know who doesn't the fans. I know the majority of the players on the team and yeah it is really discouraging when fans can sit completely quiet for the entire game.

Offensively we are almost there, we just got to keep pounding and hang on to the BALL! We will have a really good season if we can quit turning the ball over and stupid penalties.

I was at the last game against Bearden, and like you said, the fans start off cheering like everyone else and as soon as a mistake is made you hear yelling and screaming at the players and coaches and it is absolutely ridiculous. when u say "pounding" i hope you dont mean the run up the middle because in my opinion there was not much there to work with. If you want to run the ball, id look into screens, pitches, and the option. Passing would probably need some play actions and just whatever you all did against Bearden. and PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE DON'T TURN THAT BALL OVER!!!!!!!

They run the same offense Carson Newman runs. They are system coaches. They expect the talent to acclimate to the offense but never the offense acclimate to the talent. This concept is multyplied with the Vier or Triple option offense. This offense must have massive linemen otherwise it doesn't work. Compare that to a spread system offense you'll see a much easier implimentation because 190lb. linemen are OK and sometimes desirable in the spread. Bigger linemen...no problem, the spread will take them also. The spread is built on speed and the option is built on power. In the option the block must be held much longer. In the spread the RB is through so quickly all the lineman need worry about is a shield. I will say that even though the option is archaic it is a blast to watch in it's most primitive form.

Farragut press says we had 33 attempts for 18yds! Thats got to be some kind of record. That also tells me its not the running backs fault. The line has to do its job or nothing gets done. Plain and simple. Where's the mighty "undefeated freshman" team now??? Thats all we heard the last few years was wait till they get to be varsity players. Mostly from the parents I might add. What we lack in size needs to be made up in speed. You are absolutely right on about the fans, they are the 12th man on the team. Is #44, Zach Kounts I believe, still playing? I thought he was supposed to be our power back to compliment Toliver. May need to play some both ways.

Say what ya want, I still support and respect these guys for giving it their all. And so should you!!

Yes, a well-executed option offense is a joy to watch. As a Tech (Georgia Tech, of course, is there any other Tech?) fan (as well as UT, obviously), I'm quite happy with what Paul Johnson did in his first year, and hope for this year to be even better.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
