I wouldn't get too cocky.... But that seems to be the way you people are up that way. I'm a Whitell fan and I stopped close to your town to eat before the game.... Funny thing was that everyone was telling me how bad my Tigers were going to get whipped by your Tigers. Seems like that goofy smack talk is the thing to do up there. :roflol:

In all honesty you guys played a good game. Very exciting to watch. You were slinging that ball all night. I made a comment in another thread about Whitwell that if I hear the name Timmy Turner one more time I'm going to puke. :bored:

Good luck. :bored:

(Jesse England feels bad and runs it for a safety to give COalfield some points.)

Wish Sunbright didn't let Whitwell win last week, but losing teaches you something winning can't. That's why I think Sunbright chose to lose a game that wouldn't really count against them so they could learn a lesson for when they go undefeated the rest of the year.

That's pretty funny..... I know that you did not watch the game b/c you had asked about it on another thread......

Sunbright didn't choose to do anything. As a matter of fact Sunbright was ahead by 2 at half time. They got whipped fair & square. We actually played quite a bit of our good freshman players every quarter. So, again, Sunbright didn't let us win... we wore them out and whipped 'em in the second half.... 46-28

Yes Sunbright was winning at the half but I think Coach Stephens told the boys to take it easy in the 2nd half, rest up for the game with Coalfield, and let Whitwell win, that way they could see what it's like to lose a game this year. No sense in winning them all until the playoffs start. Sunbright rolls to 9-1 (but if they get too cocky the Coach might have another talk with them around mid season so they MAY lose another non district game, on purpose again of course.) :roflolk:

This is one backwoods football game right here. There will be more moonshiners at this game than the law allows. Brothers, cousins, kids, and dogs... all will be tuned in for this one. With both teams starting the season with a loss, both will be looking for revenge this week. After a half time cattle auction, Coalfield wins this one and gets a gallon of shine to boot!

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
