All this talk about being #1 could cause overlook on any given Friday night. Don't let one sneak up on ya! Your team is good...but stranger things have happened. Check out the score of last week's Cannon County vs York (rated #8)....(in fact, it's Gaddis' old buddy, former Northwest Coach Schrenk)...York ahead 14-0 at half...looked like a blow out....Cannon Co. came back and beat em', first time in school history....so don't overlook any opponet, new school or not.

 

I doubt anyone is overlooking anyone, especially a district opponent. The talk about the polls came up, and it was addressed.

Oh yea, just saying...don't overlook. You just simply never know. Don't you think the kids are as strong and talented as HC? Sure they are. Possibly the coaching ability better? ?, don't know that one. But watch it, the Coyotes might be howling at the moon that night.

Good, I stirred the pot a little as I intended and it got yall talking....keep it coming. Another noteworthy sign as to whether a team is a true #1 is if they can hold the position week after week. Its one thing to reach the top....its another to keep it each week with that big ole target on their back with everyone wanting to be the one to knock them off their perch.

 

It's odd that I'm following this thread at all.....I'm a huge Northwest Vikings fan. I think we played very well against a great team and for that I'm greatful plus I see a little bit of victory for the Vikes in that game.

 

Besides your football team, I'm a huge fan of a big crowd. Your following was profitable for our gate, which in turn is great for our team. I follow a high school team in Fyffe, Alabama...have some pretty good teams and even followed them to state. They close the town down and everybody goes. It is awesome. We don't have that here in Montgomery Co much anymore....so to see it in action is a good thing. Football is more than just the game.

 

Hey, I played college ball with a guy from Fyffe.....any chance you know a guy named Jeff Brooks? He would be like around age 40.

Wow! Name sounds familiar...but will ask some of my family that are still in that area. As small as that community is....that is hard to believe you even know where it is!! We love the Red Devils. It's a great small town football atmosphere.

I am up early, anxiously awaiting the Yanker's prediction. I wish he could predict better game night weather. Did someone earlier say that West Creek was better coached than Henry Co.? I assume they were just playing "What if...?"

 

Good morning, my "Earlistingly Awaitfulling-YANKERRINGLY Watchful-Meteorologistly Betterring-Creekfully Coachfulling-Whatfully Ifferring" friend...the YANKER is BACK!!!!! Tomorrow night's score...HC 44-West Creek 14...JCM does not play...if HC was at home...the YANKER would attend...maybe at playoff time...I AM THE YANKER...I AM THE YANKER...I AM THE YANKER!!!

Ha Ha...good one...but don't let ego cloud it out. :popcorneater: I'm just praying rain will hold off. I'm with Northwest and it's Viking homecoming against Rossview.

At my age I got a little more control over my Ego. Now at 16-18 yrs old my Ego was Proud and Loud. Too much for my own good sometimes. As far as these young men, we got a Coaching Staff that does a pretty good job of keeping the Ego in check.

 

Good Luck with Homecoming! Would you give us your thoughts on Rossville after the game? And maybe compare them to NE and CHS?

      Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.

      I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.

      I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!

      Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
