He played from 81-85 for the Vols and caught a memorable TD Pass from Dickey in the 86 Sugar Bowl. Question for some Maryville Folks? Is he the father of the Smith Brothers who played at Maryville?

Early reports from local media had said that Jeff Smith the TE from Milan had passed....but now they are reporting it is a different Jeff Smith, a former walk-on from Knox West HS.

But what is good news to some of us, is bad news to some one else, so be respectful.

The one who died is not the Jeff Smith of Maryville.

Careless reporting by the news service. I am sorry I posted this as I read it on the news link. Terrible for the Smith Family and the Grace Christian Middle School Team.
