Would that qualify you as one! If not, quit comming if your going to bash the program :thumb:

Likearock has a point. I know last year and just about every year recently when Giles went to Lipscomb alot of the fans were forced to sit in the empty seats on the homeside of the stadium because we filled the visitors stands up.

'MikeWinchell,

You must be judging Lipscomb crowds by what you have observed as an early arriving visiting fan. Lipscomb usually fills up their side of the stadium. The problem is many of their fans are like Vanderbilt fans. They don't get to the game until after kickoff. There have been MANY Lipscomb games where 1/3 of the home side has been empty at kickoff, but they have been full by the time the 1st quarter ends.

When Lipscomb plays a team that overfills the visitors stands (like Giles County), the visitors will often spill over into the home stands and take over the seats. They have the right and should do that. (The early bird gets the worm....) When the Lipscomb fans arrive late, they either have to stand up or they leave when no seats are available. When Lipscomb played Lexington several years ago, Lexington filled their stands and half of the home side before the teams came out to warm up. It was an awesome game atmosphere. Unfortunately, some DL fans never learn and still arrive "fashionably late."

So, you are right about Lipscomb not filling up their stands at game time, but they are generally full of Lipscomb fans by the end of the first quarter-if the visiting team does not get there first.

I have been corrected. I can take correction though, thanks for the insight. Sorry for dissing the fans.

Likearock, your right no one walked to Memphis so good jest. The mustangs never have played for the crowd but for championships, the coaches, and each other. Also Lipscomb visitor side is very small so most every school fills it up easily. Also Lipscomb fans dont mind at all if visitors come on our side. Im glad they feel comfortable enough to do so. Regardless of what the crowd size was at the games you talked about in the end Lipscomb won. Stay focused mustangs and remember who you are.

Mike,

I would love to visit your new stadium sometime, but I would prefer waiting until after Bo Wallace has graduated:). I still don't know how we got out of 3 of those games with wins. I guess the Mustangs used some of the cats 9 lives.

If Lipscomb doesn't make the playoffs or if they are eliminated early and Giles County is still playing, I would have to strongly consider taking a trip down I-65 to watch the Bobcats play, but only after a little time at the Hickory House, one of the best places to eat in Middle Tennessee.

It's a beautiful stadium, probably one of the nicest in Tennessee. I know it's the nicest that i've been to.

It makes me a little jealous that I never got the chance to play there when I was younger dry.gif but oh well.

Lipscomb was extremely lucky to get out of whats probably the biggest 3 games in Giles County history. But they beat us and they deserved it. I would actually like to see the Mustangs make it and have a meeting with the Bobcats to renew the rivalry :roflol: Good luck on the rest of the season.

I still believe DL is right around the corner to making a run for the playoffs. I also believe the Cheatham team of 05 and playing David Lipscomb tough the last three years has helped Giles to achieve the success we are now experiencing. We knew we had one of the best coaching staffs around but the kids had to learn something Giles has not experienced in 35 years. The expectation to win every time we walk onto the field. Lipscomb has that and I know its just a matter of time until it gels. Good luck to DL. We need you to get going so we can tangle again, lol.

lets look at some facts. 1) No matter how many people were at the games Lipscomb never lost to Giles county.

They lost to Giles Co tonight! At Lipscomp, 14-6, it was a freshman game and is a sign of whats to come for Giles.

Go Bobcats!

Bragging about winning a freshmen game is very insignificant to me

Giles is good. Lipscomb is good. Why is it impossible for both to support one another? I always try to support the old Region 5-3A teams whenever I have the opportunity.

Cograts to Giles county on the win. I was there for a while and it was a close game.Lipscomb's coach and Most intelectual instructer Coach MO is awsome in these games at playing all of his players in every game. Sometime a win is sacrificed for playing time because this is the future of the program. He trys to keep all the kids involved to keep them interested. Congrats to Coach Mo. You are awesome for what you do for the program!

    • We are optimistic because we will have another great season. You should keep your opinions on your Forrest Rocket board. These kiddos at Marion have had an amazing off season. They are working hard and it is showing. Coach TStark is getting these kids scholarships to get their college for free. Also Coach Harm is back so this is another awesome thing for our kiddos. Forrest will get theirs when they come to Bill Baxter Stadium this season. My main men Sam, Tay and Tilton are going to do amazing things this season. You should just watch and see what these kiddos are capable of doing. The Marion County Warriors are a force to be reckoned with again this year. East Robertson will be a good team again but that is the only big challenge this team will have again. If we can beat East Robertson like I know we can then we will go to the state championship and win the game. As always it is a great day to be a warrior. Go Warriors! We are Marion!
    • The player is only able to go because of the coach who is his dad. The dad is a recruiter not a good coach. HC blamed him for losing the Clinton game in the playoffs.
    • I coached both Copeland and Jordan along with Tanner Wilson, Ryan Weaver, Mason Sharp, and Caleb Rittenhouse to name a few.
    • If OR or Farragut are within 21 points I’ll cash app u $20.
