Alcoa will be unstoppable at least through 2013. They are equipped with a extremely talented group of Receivers and Running Backs. With 6'2 Jordan Ferguson grabbing balls out of the air and Ezekial Koko and Jarod Crenshaw running, Alcoa should win state through 2013. They also have a Tim Tebow-like Quarterback (Landon Turbyfill). What do you guys think?

I agree the freshman team has been impressive. I was real surprised Maryville's freshman team beat them? They too have a talented group coming.

It takes a little of the sting out of losing players like Senior JaRon Toney to graduation when you know you have a sophomore named "Vee" and freshman named Koko to keep the running game strong. :popcorneater:

Just thinking........Alcoa will continue the strong run game next year with Warren, Tyson , Hambrick, and Koko. :roflol:

Yes the future continues to look like an "F5" program!

Austin-East will have something to say about that. If not this year, then the next two years for sure. Austin-East's junior and soophomore classes are extremely talented. The 8th grade and freshmen classes are decent as a whole, but they have a handful of standout players.

Alcoa has a Freshman or 2 on kickoff and kickoff return this year, do they not? I know the one Freshman that some people around us pointed out looked like a great athlete that'll be big time by his Senior season. It's unreal how much football talent comes and goes through that school! There might even be some transfers that come in between now and whenever that could be standout athletes. A great program such as this will attract football players and make them want to play for Alcoa.

AE has extremely good talent now.............But, it will take more than talent to compete with Alcoa the next several years. AE should NOT be 3-3 now........

You're right that Austin-East shouldn't be 3-3. I think the talent level at Austin-East right now and for the next couple of years is similar to that of Alcoa. This may surprise some, but the coaching staff at Austin-East is very good right now also. A lot of them are young, and they haven't worked with each other for long... but they are good. Their game planning is good, and they make good adjustments at halftime. They have won the second half of most of their games.

What makes Austin-East different than Alcoa right now is that they are not used to having to prepare to dominate on a weekly basis. The sophomore and junior classes have always been undefeated, but they were always able to win on talent. They are learning the hard way that they have to prepare like it's a championship game every week because teams typically bring their best game against Austin-East. All year (except Ooltewah... Austin-East scored first in that one), Austin-East has started slow and were talented enough to kick it in after getting behind. They play to their competition level. When your competition level is similar to yours, it's hard to come back from behind. Austin-East has spotted most of their opponents points; they just didn't have enough time to come back against Catholic and Brainard.

If Austin-East figures out how to start, they will give Alcoa a run for their money. If not, Alcoa will continue to roll. Graham is doing a wonderful job, and the coaching at Austin-East is gonig to keep getting better and better.

Quite true Alcoa will be a dynasty until at lest 2013. They also have a very talented receiver in Kenny Dean. He is sure handed and has the makings of a fine player. Ezekiel Koko and JaRod Crenshaw have already made names for themselves on the varsity squad. JaRod Crenshaw probably makes about 80% of the tackles on the kick off team. Landon Turbyfill is emerging as a very capable defensive player and I believe he will excel especially well on defense. He plays with a tenacity seldom seen in a player his age. As for the quarterback position, I am inclined to favor Korey Bach. He let the 8th grade team last year exceptionally well as they dominated the field and won all their games and the conference championship. He has a very strong arm, deft play action,a super quick release, and is incredibly accurate. He has performed very well this year on the freshman team. Don't overlook Mr. Bach. He's their leader and the team trusts him. He will be a great one for years to come. As for the loss to Maryville, it is unexplainable how this team had 8 turnovers. It was a very unAlcoa like performance. It was almost reminicent of Maryville in last years championship game. Just not like them. As well as skill players, the freshman team is loaded on the line on both sides of the ball with big strong guys like Shane Franklin, Zac Ogle, Corey Long, and Tyler Baily to name only a few. You won't hear a lot of these names this year on Friday nights but their time is coming. This team is loaded for the future.

Dont forget about the talent walking the halls of the middle school 8th grade class is down but there are a couple of big strong (215-220 pounds) lineman Braylon Young and Tyler LeQuire and a very good back with the moves of sweetness (needs attitude check however) Malik Love (will get that fixed with upper classmen leadership) also the Teater kid in 7th grade is a freak of nature along with the McClurg twins. So if you think the run will end in 2013 3A football fans think again it could be scary for a long long long time to come.
