Henry County vs Clarksville

My My! For two weeks we heard how unbeatable the patriots were, but this is a shock to even me. Seems to show that how important shonte is to the team. good luck in the playoffs. this win throws a huge wrinkle in the 3 spot in 5A. some one just may receive a wildcard because this win puts henry in first, northeast in second, and third will be the wildcats if they win out. Northwest and Springfield may only have a chance for a wildcard. Rossview must win out to make the 2 spot in 6A.

The wild cats can seal the 3 spot if they beat rossview, west creek, and northeast. However, a loss to northeast and the other two wins may still put them in the drivers seat.

Still see the playoff picture in this respect:

5A: 1-Henry 2-Northeast 3-Clarksville Wildcard-Springfield or Northwest (big game this week)

6A: 1-Dickson Co. Rossview may need to win out to receive a wildcard birth.

These final 3 games will be exciting! Good luck everyone!

I thought you said you coached out at west creek if you really did then you would know that we have already played but you don't coach out at west creek you coach out at Springfield. Come on Coach Sutherland just admit it is you and quit hiding behind someone else. Good win over Kenwood Friday night by the way.

Hats off to CHS. Gaddis can say it serves the team right, but it the players werent the only ones "flat" tonight. I will leave it at that. I hope we meet you in the playoffs, CHS.

I didn't go to the game but I listened on the radio this time. Gaddis took the blame for the defeat. He said that he obviously didn't have them as prepared as he should have. Most coaches blame the players for a loss. What more do you want him to say? I doubt he told them to fumble, and I doubt he told them to drop a pass wide open in the end zone. Either way, he said that the slow starts finally caught up with them. I doubt he really is to blame for the defeat, but good coaches try to deflect the blame from the players, and take it themselves.

I dont want him to say anything more. I agree with him completely. YOU can put the blame on the player (which you have) who dropped the pass in the endzone, who also happens to be the same player who lost a fumble, that led to a CHS touchdown. But HC still had opportunities, several opportunities to win after the fact. I stand by my statement, HC was flat as a WHOLE. That's MY opinion, not yours.

Who are you saying was flat? You confuse me. I can't imagine coaches being flat. The fans weren't flat. Were the managers flat? I think the players were overconfident and it got us beat. Thank goodness the loss didn't cost us the district lead, at least I don't think it did.

Call it "flat" or whatever, but we had an off night. Coaches and players alike. We lost. This was one of those games that leaves you scratching your head. I agree with you on the overconfident statement. Just a strange game. BTW, it should be a crime to play a HS game on a Saturday night.

I agree with the "crime to play on a Saturday night" statement. Someone should be arrested and jailed.

Overconfident being key word! I posted a few weeks back not to "overlook opponets" by the Pats and was scolded for suggesting that. I also think CHS just beat the Big Red Machine....plain and simple... and defeat is a bitter pill to swallow when you're sitting at #1. As far as a Saturday night game, shouldn't be any different to the players on the field. They should have no mindset about what day of the week it is....speaking of illegal, that rude horn man from HC tooting his loud horn should be a crime. Give me a break about the Saturday night issue. What difference should that make?

It was a great high school football game by the CHS Wildcats and staff which beat the Henry County Patriots and staff....simple as that

"Execution" is the key word!!! CHS accomplished it, HCHS did not!

You did not pickup on the Saturday Night Live humour?

Pats get the week off to patch their wounds and get ready for the Battle for Barrel.

GO PATS !!!!!!!!

I was in no way using Saturday as an excuse. I was thinking on a personal level. I look forward to a game all day at work on Fridays, I really wanted tro watch the Florida/LSU game along with some other college games, and a few other PERSONAL reasons including there is just something about "Friday Night Lights". It just didnt feel the same from a spectator sense. As far as the actual game, I agree, it shouldnt make any difference, WE WERE BEAT HANDS DOWN, no matter what day of the week it was. A very good win to a very deserving CHS team. Like I said, my hats off to them. They got the job done.

Simply an attempt at humor...you need to lighten up. There are no excuses for what happened Saturday night. Clarksville outplayed our team and deserved to win. Saturday night is reserved for college football. They could have played on Friday night and they should have played on Friday night, but playing on Saturday had nothing to do with the game's outcome.
