silverpie
Unlike the bizarre features of Division I, these brackets run the old-fashioned way. CLASS A EAST/MIDDLE Donelson Christian is definitely in; any of the remaining teams can take the other five slots. Donelson Christian, Davisson Academy, Franklin Road Academy, and Knoxville Webb are also in with a chance at the region honors, and Zion Christian has a chance to finish second (thus claiming a first-round bye). Ezell-Harding is the only team that cannot make the top four and get a first-round game at home. CLASS A WEST 1 Evangelical Christian, First Assembly Christian, and St. Benedict can win the district. Harding Academy cannot, but can still finish second and get a home game (which no one is guaranteed). Bishop Byrne is out. CLASS A WEST 2 No one has clinched. USJ, St. George's, and Jackson Christian can win the league; Fayette Academy and Tipton-Rosemark can finish as high as second; and Rossville Christian is out. CLASS AA EAST/MIDDLE No one is guaranteed even the top-5 finish needed to earn a home game, and all eight teams have a chance at earning one. John Paul II and McCallie are out of the running for a bye, while Battle Ground Academy can finish only as high as second. (Baylor and Father Ryan can each occupy any of the eight final positions!) CLASS AA WEST Not much to say there, with no region games played...
movinonup
With a win tonight at Rossville and they should be favored, USJ will clinch West District 2, already having wins over JCS, Fayette, and St. George's. From Jackson Sun: "What's at stake: A win gives USJ the district title and the Bruins a bye to the Division II-A quarterfinals. That would mean another home game for USJ, which closes the regular season with three on the road." Big game tonight between JCS and St. Georges. Winner will have a step up on being the number 2 team in district. From Jackson Sun: "What's at stake: Both teams are at 2-1 in the district, and they are in position to finish in the top three and make the playoffs. The winner is in, and if JCS loses, the Eagles must beat Fayette Academy to make the playoffs. The No. 2 seed out of the district hosts its first-round game but a No. 3 seed means a long trip." wrangler615
If the trend continues then Ensworth will claim the bye for DIIAA east/midde and MUS DIIAA west

BARTLETTHSGRAD04
HOW CAN FAYETTE ACADEMY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS?
Trojan Fan
Fayette Academy has to beat Jackson Christian to make the playoffs. IF they do, then St. George's, Fayette Academy and Jackson Christian finished tied for 2nd in West 2 assuming that St. George's doesn't shockingly lose to Rossville. SGIS would very, very likely win the tiebreaker of total wins and finish 2nd w/ Fayette finishing 3rd. If JCS beats Fayette, then it's simple. JCS takes 2nd in the district and St. George's is 3rd no matter what they do the last 2 games. University School of Jackson IS the West 2 district champ for sure and they will get a 1st round playoff bye. In West 1, ECS is the district champ and gets a 1st round playoff bye no matter what. The year-ending game with SBEC (Southern Baptist Educational Center, not St. Benedict...just clarifying, St. Benedict is in AA) at FACS is for 2nd and 3rd place in West 1. Harding is in 4th but even if they pull the shocker of the year and beat ECS they'd still be tied with SBEC of FACS and both those teams beat Harding and would have the tiebreaker. So, ECS has clinched #1 and again, the SBEC/FACS game is for 2nd and 3rd place and either home or travelling for the 1st round of the playoffs. Trojan Fan
Looking at East/Middle, Riverside Christian would appear to have the inside track to the #6 seed. They're 1-4 but have beaten St. Andrew's already and that's the only other team at the bottom of the league that has a region win. With a game left against Mt. Juliet Christian that looks like a win for Riverside and St. Andrew's appearing to have only 1 other region game that looks like a win (Ezell-Harding, Davidson looks like a loss), you have to put Riverside in at #6 at this point. Everybody else in the region in spots 1 through 5 already has 3 wins and has beaten Riverside just about clinching the top 5 will stay in the top 5. The Knoxville Webb games vs. Donelson Christian and Davidson are huge as is the game b/w Franklin Road and DCA. Zion only has one game left in region vs. Mt. Juliet Christian which would put them 4-2 and waiting to see if DA and FRA get 2 losses to determine the tiebreakers. FRA beat Zion but DA doesn't play Zion. Using overall wins as a tiebreaker favors Davidson Academy. If they end up losing to Webb and FRA loses to DCA but both win their other games, then DA ends up 3rd, FRA 4th and Zion 5th. If I had to predict right now, I'd say 1. Winner of Webb/Donelson Christian 2. Loser of Webb/Donelson Christian 3. Davidson Academy 4. Franklin Road Academy 5. Zion Christian 6. Riverside Christian
anon
What if MJCA beats Riverside?
Trojan Fan
What if MJCA beats Riverside? From what I can tell, St. Andrews-Sewanee would move in front of Riverside with a win over Ezell-Harding (possible...maybe) or Davidson (not happening) IF MJCA beats Riverside. There are some combinations that would allow any of Riverside, SAS, Ezell-Harding, or MJCA take the last playoff spot in East/Middle but if Riverside beats MJCA it's going to take some pretty major upsets happening in the other games to oust Riverside from the 6th place spot. The top 5 are locked in barring some kind of unusual situation like auto wins over Lancaster Christian b/c of their late pullout from DII hitting the records at the end of the year. Even if that happens as described in another thread, it still may have no real impact on the standings.
