BUtifulGame
PS Playing club soccer does not prevent players from being tired. The difference between state and club is mental pressure. In club, you lose a match, so what, there are more coming, at state you are playing for the state championship and thats pressure, and thus you could tire more easily. Bulldog - I disagree. I understand your passion for the high school game, but at this point, the girls in TN playing the highest level club ball understand that a D2AA state championship means you were able to outlast just 15 other teams in the state. While it is great to say you have won a state championship - TSSAA rulings have watered down the divisions and the level of competition, losing much of its impact along the way. True competition and therefore true pressure for results - at least for TN players - is in D1 club competition. It is in these tournaments that girls seeking to play college soccer feel real mental pressure to play their best. It should not be this way, but it is. h2odog
I have had the opportunity to see lots and lots of club games and high level high school games and I think the girls always, always want to win and are just as disappointed to not make it to club state as high school state. I can't see them thinking one is more important that the other. They are competitive and want to win them all. The final game for state should be after a day of rest for the fans. That way, the issue of "tired feet" can't be thrown out as an excuse for losing. They will miss no more school and the championship can be early enough on Saturday, that they can travel home to save hotel expenses, if that is a factor. Memphis is 6 hours with stops and slow poking and you gain an hour on the clock, so play all four games on Saturday. Or better yet, lets reduce the number of Divisions before we find a way to create another one.
Coniglio
We could start by putting everybody together. Or at most, split public private. But I'd rather just keep everyone together.
hamlet7478
This might be heresy or something, but I think the current split of small/big schools in the publics and small/big schools in the private schools is just about right. There still might be an issue with the private schools in the small school division because 3 of the 4 semi-finalists were, technically, private. We'll now know you as Shaggy's ScooBee...Rutt-Roo I thought I was safer with magic dust until I heard what happened to you in Collierville. The license plate was personalized, "Canes". The Police report read: A man was driving when he saw the flash of a traffic camera. He figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit, even though he knew that he was not speeding. Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed. Now he began to think that this was quite funny, so he drove even slower as he passed the area again, but the traffic camera again flashed. He tried a fourth time with the same result. He did this a fifth time and was now laughing when the camera flashed as he rolled past, this time at a snail's pace. Be aware that you will be getting five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt. Don't drive and do dust.
