You know what cougar4life2010. We will shut up and play football while y'all shut up and get your field fixed. You should be able to now that you're not playing anymore.

c'mon now baseballordie. After talking to the USJ players after the game, seeing the obvious joy displayed by the kids after winning (must admit that even though DA lost the game it's still awesome to see the way a kid reacts when he gets a chance to play for a state championship), and even encouraging the USJ players and parents in their up coming venture, you tearing me apart. Let a group of guys (and parents for that matter) represent themselves by the way they play and act and get off your computer because all you are doing is making them look bad and I'm sure they do not appreciate it. I was very pleased with how this past Friday went, with the obvious execption of the outcome, and really enjoyed being around the Bruin fan base. But you, baseballordie, are really a terrible representation of an otherwise very pleasant group of people.

If we take a knee on their 15, when we were up by 4 points already with 2:00 left in the game...With USJ being completely out of timeouts..USJ would be at home right now. We fumbled...and we lost.

bigreese82 why did yalls coach not have the qb take a knee? sounds like he was trying to score again by running a play instead of taking a snap in the victory formation. he prolly wishes he did now lol.

We couldn't run the clock out by taking knees. We had to try and get a first down, believe it may have been 3rd down. We ran a reverse putting the ball into the hands of a senior captain playmaker (a play call that I liked and a play that had worked for Davidson all season). Unfortunately it didn't work out for us. I think I'm gonna call it a season though. It was a great run, hopefully next yr we can find a line because we return the playmakers, just need some blocking. Good luck to USJ and Knox Webb next week. I pray for the safest game possible and may the best team win.

Really? Helicopters? That's funny...sounds like total bull to me. Even if it is true, should they apologize for trying to FIX the field? Everybody knows the worst thing is to play on a dry field, I can't imagine having to put up with all that traction. Maybe next time DA can soap down the field too, that should help. And they can say that a soap truck crashed into the field but nothing else was damaged. Makes just as much sense as the field being SOAKED and everything else being bone dry. "Their field is known for being mushy"? I had no idea you could get a field made out of sponge...everyone uses the same dirt.

You had it all right until that last line. The dirt is not all the same at all. I bet someone with more in depth knowledge can give you the facts. It will definitely be different than the other fields if when making it they had to bring in outside dirt. How compact it is, the crowning of the field, and the age of the field all matter.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
