Jp2 beat BA 6-2 on Friday night.

BA looked awful...the Jp2 pitcher completely shut them down which is no sin... but more importantly BA could NOT field the ball. EVERY ball put in play was an adventure. Really out of character for BA.

Several of the parents said BA had played very well the night before, so this may just be an anomoly.

D-II is very even and very average this year for sure. Not a lot of great upperclassmen talent.

That said...Jp2 started a freshman shortstop and their best hitter in this series has been another freshman. BA has 2 or 3 seriously good looking underclassman playing varsity ball, so i think these 2 teams will be very good for the forseeable future.

The district tournament will sure be intersting...its ANYONES district with the exception of Father Ryan.

There is an advantage for teams (JP2,BGA) that play their home games at night and under the lights.

This season JP2 is 6-1 for night home games, BGA is 5-3 for night home games.

Shouldn't be an excuse but I do see teams having trouble at night fielding the ball under the lights, these teams do not have lights on their home field.

JP2 and BGA schedule night games because of this advantage, I don't blame them.

That advantage will not be there in the state tournament where the games are played in the day.

In looking at the games remaining, Baylor really has a chance to catch MBA and/or BA. Baylor plays BGA and Ryan while MBA and BA play one another.

It will be a tough series with BGA. They are starting to hit their stride by sweeping JP2 last week.

Ryan can sneak up on you also. They have won a few games lately and are playing the spoiler role.

PREDICTION: The winner of the EAST/MIDDLE will have at least 6 loses.

WHere is the BGA/Baylor series being played?

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
