What's up with all of our power teams getting dusted so far? At the Turkey Jam in Memphis Hillsboro got whipped by Lutheran East,OH 63-39, Memphis Central got beat by Riverdale Baptist,MD 74-60, Potter's House,FL beat Memphis Overton 58-52, Lausanne lost to HW Byers,MS 61-48. At least Ridgeway won by squeeking by Campbell,GA 60-57. Hillsboro did recover and beat HW Byers in the second round 54-45. Also, Oak Ridge got rocked by Hoover,AL 53-33 at the Rotary Hoops Classic. What is going on with all of our power teams? We have to represent better than that!!

Also, Hillsboro and Memphis Central are representing TN in the Nike TOC this year. They better be reasy because the best teams in the country play in that tournament. Morristown West and Baylor will represent in the weaker Nike TOC. Why West is playing in the weaker of the TOCs is beyond me. Maybe they weren't invited to the big TOC? I wish West was representing in the big one because they appear to be the team to beat this year in TN.

Top teams in the main TOC are Gorman,NV/BreaOlinda,CA/Bolingbrook,IL/Buena,CA/Chatsworth,CA/Christ the King,NY/Dillard,FL/HD Woodson,DC/Highlands Ranch,CO/Lone Peak,UT/Poly,CA/Lynwood,CA/Mater Dei,CA/Narbonne,CA/Oregon City,OR/Piedmont,CA/Riverdale Baptist,MD/Timpview,UT/ThunderRidge,CO and St. Mary's,CA.

That is a gauntlet of powerhouse teams. Hillsboro and Central better be ready.

Congratulations to Ridgeway, the ONLY team to win both games in the Jamm! Central and Overton managed to pull out wins on day two against ranked teams, they'll be okay. Central's main concern this year will be match-ups. They were strong against an all guard team like Potter's House, but much weaker againgst a more balanced Riverdale team. Hillsboro had the opposite problem, they don't have the guards to move the ball. Hopefully, both teams can put together some wins in the TOC! Tennessee all the way!

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
