Replacing those 'backers will be the key. It is a possibility that there are 3 sophmores starting a LB next year. Even though those 3 sophmores are extremely talented (as many of that next years sophmore class), that's kinda scary. I've been wondering if QB accuracy issues were due to elbow/wrist issues. Not making excuses, just thinking those injuries maybe changed his mechanics. Our offensive line will reload. Will miss all three Robinsons, but D. Warren at end and we'll see J. Henry at other with a similar skill set to D.W. On offense.... skill positions still LOADED. Vee, Taharin, Zeke, D.W., Crenshaw....jeez. Couple of sophmores at WR will work in. Impressed with K. Dean.

Defense:

I see Crenshaw, and Tyson making great Linebackers. Tyson would be great at MLB. Warren and either Henry or McLaughlin at DE. Returning starting DB's.........Isom and Talent. I see Wheeler and Cunningham stepping up in the defensive back field. Defensive tackles and nose?

Offense:

Lineman......Evans and Mangum at guard, Rankin at center, offensive tackles?

FB, Tyson, Crenshaw

RB, Hambrick, Warren, Koko.

QB, Talent, Goodson, Morgan

TE?

WR, Isom, Wheeler, ?

So do you think Tallent stays at Qb next year?

I'd say he is defiantly the front runner! He's a great athlete, and can scramble well. He runs the ball well from that spot. Not sure if his height is an issue seeing down field? A lot of times T-rod would have to "wave" at him when he was open down field? All-in-all he did a great job as a JR starting his first year at that position and should improve next year.

I think if he works in the off season and attends some QB camps he can be a excellent QB next year. :popcorneater:

The offensive line will change the most. Evans being the strongest and most experienced on the line will move to the blindside tackle. Mangum will move down to the other OG spot. Stephens, well, don't get me started on him. Rankin will hold down the spot at center. They will move Loy to OG; hard worker and does what he's asked. Finally, Manuel will have to step up and gain some physicality if he wants to play at the varsity level.

Just my 2 cents.

I like the defensive lineup. I think they will continue to be fast. This will be Warren's year!

The offensive line looks to reload pretty good. Hambrick and Koko have some "big shoes" to fill. Both have great skills. Hambrick will run hard next season but needs to keep his head up through the gaps and down the field a bit better. Tyson will give all teams fits next year! I see Crenshaw playing some from the FB position. I'd like to see Isom, Warfield and Talent on the same page and have better success in the passing game, and better balance on offense next season.

Bottomline..........I see enough horses for number 7! :roflolk:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
