Just looking at the brackets I think McKenzie has a very good shot at another silver ball and the opportunity for a gold. They will likely face Humbolt or TCA in semis if they get through M.P., Riverside and most likely it will be Trousdale in the championship. They should be very familiar with everyone on this side outside M.P. and they have played them before as well. Really got lucky that only way to hit T.C. is in championship game. They are the cream of the crop again from what I hear. They have beaten a lot of good teams this year including Mayfield, Ky who is always very good. I am really pulling for McKenzie to get the gold ball. If they can get one, 3 out of 4 football playing schools in Carroll County will have a state championship. Pretty good accomplishment.

They didn't play Mayfield. They played Graves County. Two totally different programs and a solid JV squad could be Graves County.

But Hey Thanks For The Vote Of Confidence :thumb:

Our Reb scouts were out watching MtP tonight and they texted Butchie that the Rebels can handle them quite well. We'll see but, trust their judgement. If our Rebels get thru the semi's I like our chances. But there is that IF factor.

Me and Butchie were off on a little CoachT "meet and greet" tonight over at South Fulton and loved seeing all our friends over there. It was fun. Some of the JoByrns folks even showed up. A bunch from Lake Co. were there and one or two from S. Fulton....even one from Huntingdon!

Ya'll, if ya can't have fun from all this on CoachT you are taking life WAY too serious!!!! I wish that SF had not had so many starters injured and out of the game as it could have been a better game BUT it is what it is.

Now, 3 of the 4 Carroll Co. teams will move on into week 2 of the playoffs. That is all 3 of us that made the playoffs. Congrats to Carroll Co.!!!! Bruceton, we're really proud of ya,ll for taking it to Union City!!!!!! I admit, I was a little surprised by your score but in my heart I felt that ya'll might pull that one out. :thumb:

Duck I Always Look At The Strength And Success Columns On CoachT...Bruceton Strength Of Schedule Is 8th Overall And Perry County Is 49th Bruceton Success Is 38th And Perry Is 6th...So Bruceton has Played A Tougher Schedule So Let's See How It Plays Out..Perry Will Probably Win But Bruceton Will Have A Good Showing :thumb:

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
