Cookevegas3
Wanting to get a discussion of the regions top teams this year. Make a top 5 list. I'll start it... 1. Sunbright - only team in 4A not to lose, playing well except for loss to Calarkrange. 2. Jellico - one the regions most explosive teams 3. Grace Christan - haven't played many district games, but have played a tough schedule 4. Tellico Plains - has played everyone in 3A once, and only lost to Grace 5. Oliver Springs - tough losses to Sunbright and Jellico almost in Midway, Harriman, Oneida

rufus22
Sunbright beats Oneida tonight by 23. I believe the score was 57-34. They take on Wartburg Friday night at Wartburg in another big district game. They still have trips to Oakdale Feb. 1st, Coalfield Feb. 5th, Jellico Feb. 12th, to go along with a visit from Oliver Springs Feb. 9th. Add in a visit from Scott High the 2nd and you have a tough stretch left for the Tigers. All of the remaining games are huge, but the Oliver Springs game is possibly the biggest of the lot with both teams on a collision course for the Regular Season title and the number 1 seed in the tournament. But the Tigers don't need to overlook the rest of their schedule by any means. Oakdale gave them a ball game last Friday by playing small ball and slowing the pace down to a snail speed. But I see that as Sunbright's "off" game this year in the district. Every good team has a night where nothing goes right, but true good teams find a way to win while facing adversity and Sunbright did that Friday. It will be interesting to see how the district finishes out. My predictions 1. Sunbright (Their the team to beat until someone proves otherwise, still undefeated in district play.) 2. Oliver Springs (Has turned it on since early district defeats by Sunbright and Jellico, peaking at the right time) 3. Jellico (Still a dangerous team even after losing to Oliver Springs, has the capability of knocking off the top two on a given night) 4. Oneida (Haven't seen much of them but have shown glimpses of a team that could make things tough for teams in the tournament.) 5. Wartburg (VERY streaky, have talent to play with anybody, just not enough experience or leadership to get over the hump.) 6. Oakdale (Showed Friday against Sunbright they can play with anybody on a given night, but lack the bench and experience to pull off an upset.) 7. Coalfield (Are improving little by little, but still not to the point where they can compete for anything other than 6th place.)

rufus22
Big matchup tomorrow night with Oliver Springs visiting Sunbright. With Oliver Springs losing to Wartburg last Friday, that opens up the chance for Sunbright to wrap up the number 1 seed with a win tomorrow. Should be a very fast and furious game. The best games of course will be the 4/5 matchups in both districts. The rest of the games should see higher seeds advancing. The UPSET ALERT game is Greenback/Midway!
