Kevin dyson is no peyton manning,plus payton is heads above football knowledge then KD-however with that I still would have a problem if they named peyton a head coach with the lil time KD has had...KD himself in the tennessean said a lot of folks think I got this job but I have the resume....resume like I said one year a volunteer,one year a backs coach one year a backs coach(and halfway thru the season defensive cord) I personally don't think that is enough to coach in one of the best coferences in the state- just because someone playes in the NFL qualifies you to be a head coach -so he played in the nfl, would VY be a good coach+ it takes more then that......

Why did law get suspended for a game

I agree with burroball, a head coach at a high school is a job within itself. So many behind the scene responsibilities for a HC, which are not recognized. There are many issues that will not have to be address in the same magnitude, as in a metro school. It should be an easier ride for an experience coach. A guy with NFL experience, an ambition to coach, decent people/coach skills, and an understanding of the demands of HC, possess many tools of being a great coach. Based on his short High school experience, He has somewhat of an understanding of the demands.

 

Whether he deserves it over an more experience successful area coach is another thing. With Law, only having the responsibilities of running the O could be a good thing! Dyson only put the blunt of the responsibilities on himself, and let the more experience coach run his O.

I never did hear what exactly the reason for Law's suspension was.

 

Like I said, you may be right about Dyson not being ready to be a HC, but I just highly doubt it's football knowledge that proves to be his major flaw. Does he have the personality dynamic to be an HC? Obviously, we'll all find out soon enough. I just don't think he's the worst choice for Independence.

      A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.

      If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout

      For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!

      They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
