Wilson Central will get to Sub State

This is the first year in awhile that WC has not had the maturity that they usually do. But, when your Coach is Bud Brandon anything can happen.

 

1. Coach Brandon has been out coaching people since he was a middle school coach at WJB. He will do one of his best here. He will control the pace of the game and will turn in up when he has to and slow it down when he wants. He will control boards enough where the big girl wont be to much of a factor.

 

2. Shoot the ball well. If Wilson Central shoots the ball they are tough. With the speed they have they can out points up fast.

 

3. Defense will prevail!! With the length of his girls watch out for traps they will turn you over.

WOW!!!! What a bold statement to make when you are playing Clarksville. Do you really need to give this team more motivation. Good luck, but getting past this team will be a huge test.

There's a reason they finished 4th in the district tournament.....they were the 4th best team. Clarksville will win by whatever they want it to be. WC had a 10+ lead vs Station Camp in the semis and folded late. Also they didn't look good vs Beech in the consolation. Clarksville tops the midstate poll for a reason. It will be out of hand by half.

A couple holes in your theory.... If Wilson Central shoots the ball well they are tough? From my estimation, that is true of pretty much every team. Clarksville will have the best shooter on the floor in Chandler Cooper. She is lights out from any depth.

 

You mention the length of Wilson Central... but have you seen the length of Clarksville??? Graves is nearly 6'4" and they start another 6-footer. Two of the starting guards I know are 5'9" or 5'10". If you go to their bench, they pull in another girl who is at least 6'2"... and these are not slow, unathletic posts. These are long-armed, shot-changing girls.

 

I agree Coach Brandon will probably do a heck of a job getting these girls prepared, but I think Clarksville has too many weapons for them to pull the upset. I will be rooting 9AAA, but this game is definitely the long shot of the Region 5 games.
