Does anyone else find it interesting the BOYS basketball coaching changes in Rutherford Co in the last 4 years?! It's crazy...

 

06-07 LaVergne coach resigns; Smyrna coach resigns

07-08 Siegel coach retires from coaching

08-09 Oakland coach retires from coaching

09-10 Blackman and Riverdale coaches resign

 

I could be wrong on the year for Siegel coach, but still...very interesting.

 

5 years ago Rutherford Co. had a totally different look to it than it will next year!

Wow that is an interesting point rook. I think the big question now is did Blackman shoot themselves in the foot by waiting so long to hire a new coach. With Riverdale opening up now, that may look more attractive to some. IMO, Riverdale seems to have better athletes than Blackman. Any thoughts?

What is the news on Blackman? I am surprised they have not hired being that there have been only 1 or two names floating around about the job.

Im with you on this one JC. I dont see what the hold up is. Its time for summer scheduling and getting ready for camps. I don't understand what the hold up is. If Kevin Thomas wants the job, I dont see why they would be holding out. Really Woodson or Thomas either one.

I would venture to guess that they have already made the hire but not the announcement. Remember Rutherford County schools just came off of spring break yesterday

True IceCold, but Riverdale made their big announcement. Why not Blackman? I think they may have lost a few candidates by holding out so long. And the way that information spreads around Rutherford Co., if they had told anybody who was hired, it would be out there.

very true as well. there has been lots of coaching moves being made in the county. I know this is a boys board but with all the talk about the middle schools does anyone know who got the girls' jobs

Johnathan Kimbro got the girls job at Whitworth-Buchanan. Not real sure who is though.
