Best players in the state as of now?

Jordan Parris from Tullahoma has to be one of the top catchers in the state. He is batting around .600 and is the best defensive catcher I've ever seen.

If he is hitting around .600 then Tullahoma's score keeper is WAY to easy of a scorer.

He has dropped significantly since then, I think he is just below .400 now.

The two that I think have the best potential in the Columbia area...

Tyler Bigler-Spring Hill

A kid from Columbia Central (sorry forgot his name)

Seth Staggs-Santa Fe

Please get out of Santa Fe. You have no clue really.

Bigler (SH) and Keaton (COL) have already been named along with many others from Spring Hill and Columbia Central.

My bad, Im from Columbia...and that's a great thing for a coach to say about one of his players. These three have a good shot at playing WELL at the next level. There is no need for you to be mad at someone for giving their opinions....in a forum (about OPINIONS!) so Mr. LEE WILLIAMS maybe you should give some of your Post 19 boys some credit, after all didn't they win you a title?

I never said anything about Staggs. He is a great player! He knows how I feel about him. He did help me win an State Championship for American Legion baseball. I'm very grateful for him and all the players on that team last summer. Don't turn it around like I bashed a player. So once again you have no clue!

All of your opinions is based out of SF. It's like you only see games at that ball park even if you do say you are from Columbia. We have discussed this before on here. What about Brochu from SH? He has 13 HR's and is batting around .500. Does he have a shot? What about Spann from Columbia? LHP that throw mid 80's for the most part. Probably can bring it high 80's at times. He has had a very successful year at Columbia. There is many more to name. Most of the players have already been named. I'm just saying to get out of SF and watch more baseball. Several players in this area have already signed to play at the next level and several have a shot to sign this year or next. SH - Bigler & Brochu CState, Walton Walters St, Howard & Therriault Martin Methodist. Columbia - Keaton Walters St, Spann Vol St,

I too think Staggs is a good ballplayer but if you took all the players just in Maury County and came up with a single team from that, he would not be a starter in that group. Not knocking him like I said the kid has skills but there are a lot of better ballplayers out there playing against tougher competition every day.

the only thing i can say is that i'm suprised the willie hasn't spoken about laster from cville has to be one of the top three single a pitchers in the state

I agree! I really like Laster! Kid has a ton of upside and should be very exciting to watch this summer and in the future. I guess I have left him off the list and he should be on there. My bad!

You can't have a thread titled "Best Players in the State as of now" without Connor Moore, C, at Overton being on the list. LH power bat with 11 home runs and he controls the basepaths with his arm. Signed with Western Ky.

The scout for UT was at the game last night and just shook his head when he hit a 2 run homer to put Overton up 2-1 over Mt. Juliet.

At least 5 college scouts at that game last night, including Corbin at Vandy, UT, USA baseball, Trevecca, and MTSU.

I like this thread it comes out every year. This year I've had a chance to watch many of the players from around the state Here are the best i've seen at each postition.

C- Shelton-Brentwood Ethan Bennett- Farragut

IF- Will Blaylock-Brentwood Academy

IF- Nick Delmonico- Farragut

IF- Josh Lee- Independence

IF-Kendall Keaton- Columbia

OF-Tony Kemp- Centennial

OF-Kyle Brouchu- Spring Hill

OF-Tucker Tubbs-Collierville

P-Robert Hansen- Beech

P- Philip Phifer- Farragut

P-Robbie Ray-Brentwood

P-Luke Deaton- Bartlett

I don't look at stats just talent. All these kids will play at the next level, some have already signed. The Vandy group is impressive I must say. Corbin did a great job with this TN class.

but have you seen every team in the state play? Have you seen all of these kids play? Pretty wide spread there. Just wondering.

Smallball, I have seen all these kids play. And they are all the real deal. It's hard to make an all-state team, and I realize that, someone will always get left off. However, these are the kids that really made an impact on me. Who in this list would you challenge me on? P.S. I have not seen ever kid in the state play, that would be pretty tough to accomplish for anyone. But I would like to know who you would take off to add?

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
