AE's Graham resigns. Takes a Job in North Carolina

Before anybody talks about new coaches at AE, I want to say Graham is one of the best coaches in Tennessee. He did a lot of great things for his kids/coaches that most other area coaches would never do. He has sent more kids to college than any other coach in Knoxville in the past 5 years. Fulton and Catholic kids would even go to Graham after the season for help to get into school (because their coaches weren't doing anything to help). I don't think Knoxville realizes the impact of Graham leaving AE. He was also a great assett and ambassador for the school. He participated in every in-service and faculty meeting. He will compliment Joe Gaddis/ staff and continue to impact the lives of young people in North Carolina. AE is losing a great coach. I can't believe you would post that question 2 hours after he announced he was leaving.

Why would you be surprised by the question? No one questioned what he did as a coach. This forum is always swirling with rumors. I'm interested to know because AE has alot of talent coming back next year. I'm interested in who will rise to the challenge of coaching at what is historically one of the best programs in the state. I actually thought it would get more chatter because spring practice is around the corner.

I'm not surprised by the question. I was surprised at how fast you posted the question. lt was almost as if you were trying to rush Graham out the door. I know Spring ball is about to start and they have to keep the momentum going, but you posted that question almost at the same time he made his announcement to leave. I just thought the timing was bad. But you're right. AE is a top program and whoever gets the opportunity to coach there will inherit some great talent and great kids.

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
