There was a rumor floating around Chris Jones may be trying to go to Findley Prep. I think he will go to Hargrave when all is said and done.

Also some talk that the UT verbal may not be as solid as some might think. Word is Memphis may be working on Jones.

I HEAR HE IS GOING TO OAK RIDGE MILITARY ACADEMY IN NORTH CAROLINA. IT HAS STRONG TIES TO UT.

Memphis has higher priority targets for 2011, Trevor Lacey, Ky Madden, Ced McAfee, Andre Hollins etc. Jones would be a nice fallback option and Memphis never showed interest in him until State Championships though I think it was simple flirtations at best. I would love to have Jones, but I'd much rather add Madden, McAfee, or Lacey or any combination.

I disagree with the Memphis and football. When it comes to individual talent no other area in the state may have better PLAYERS than Memphis. Now if you took the 5 best teams from Rutherford against the 5 best public schools in Memphis, its a different story. White Station and Whitehaven probably would've won, but Rutherford would've taken the other 3 games. Anyways, Boroballer I see you're still bashing Memphis and if you're familiar with Shabazz Muhammad he's another stud in the 2012 class in Las Vegas who reclassified too. Just throwing that out there. Gimme your 22 best players from Rutherford and 10 best bball players as well and I'll take Memphis, overwhealming fashion in Bball, nail bitter in football.

I agree your view :roflolk::o

The Oak Ridge Military Academy boys basketball camp team recently captured the gold medal in the 2010 N.C. State Games. The Cadets defeated Smoky Mountain High School 79-58 in the championship game and completed the event with a perfect 7-0 record after defeating Raleigh Millbrook 62-49 in the semi-finals. Senior leadership played a key role as Michael Neal, Jacob Lawson, Chris Jones, Asad Lamot, Ryan King, Justin Mitchell and Bashir Balarabe led the way.

Sorry Terop I'll always take an explosive 6'2/6'3 Combo Guard over a 5'9 one.

JodyJoe I respect your opinion a lot on these boards, but I'll have to ride with Jones. I've seen him dominate all competition and I havent seen Mcafee do that since middle school...

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
