14 year old hits 90mph.?.............

I heard that a 14 yr old kid in the District 8 AAA tourney hit 90mph. Now this sounds unreal to me. I was wondering if anyone has proof to this or has seen any thing similar to this amazing act.

I was there. When someone says 90 that usually means low to mid 80s. What I saw with my own eyes 83-84.

Sheffield doesn't throw 90. I've watched him play many times. He's maybe on average 82 which is still good. But I heard Columbia has two freshman that throw just as hard? And I think one of them took sheff deep to clinch the 8aaa title

That is correct they do have two that throw just as hard. You are right one of them plays first base and took him deep in Columbia to clinch. Sheffield is good and will get better as he progresses through his High School years. Tullahoma and Columbia both have real good young talent which should make for some great baseball between these two schools over the next couple of years. Good luck to both teams and show that we play some pretty good baseball in 8-AAA.

Stone is the other. There are some other freshman that are pretty close as well.

It's possible that the gun picked up the bat speed on that paticular pitch.
