The hot shot basketball guy headed into 9th grade from Rutherford County?

Do they now recruit all over the mid-state for hoops too?

Yes he is coming to the ENS! And where have you been, Ferby is from Smyrna/Lavergne area, we recruited Corn Elder from Central last year. And we have the big boy on the FOotball team from Mt. Pleasant. State wide, we get them!

Yet you still get dominated by the public schools. How amusing. And you still dont win your little private school championship. HAHAHAHAHAH.

Must be nice to play Father Ryan every year in the state championship game. What a joke.

What public schools have dominated Ensworth? Losing a close game and getting dominated are two different things, and when was the last time schools in the boro won anything in basketball?

You have to be joking. District 7AAA is just that...AAA. That means you are playing the biggest and best schools in the state. The Mboro teams have to get past the amazing Memphis teams and traditionally strong teams from east TN. As I said, we don't play a team like Father Ryan in the state championship. Not knocking Father Ryan, but Father Ryan and Ensworth wouldn't even be a Top 3 team in 7AAA. Much less play for a AAA state championship.

Parents need to learn that the way a player gets better is by playing against good competition everyday in practice and in games. Going to Ensworth does absolutely nothing to help your son get any better. That would be like Chris Jones transferring from Memphis Melrose to Forrest or some A school. Yeah he would dominate that league but what is he really accomplishing? Nothing. He isn't getting any better everyday in practice playing against scrubs and he isn't proving anything on the court playing against a bunch of rich kids that couldn't cut it in public schools. Period. End of story.

Ensworth is a joke. I say this because you try to recruit the best players in the state and still can't hang with the public schools.

Corn Elder would be on every recruitting list in the nation if he would have went to Oakland. the kid is good and he will get himself recruitted...not Ensworth. What needs to happen is all the public schools need to "black ball" the private schools that are coming in and recruitting our kids. DO NOT SCHEDULE THEM!!!!!!

Wow thats ignorant, some of these best players to come outta tha state have gone to privates. Brandan Knight(UNC, NBA Lottery Pick), David Harrison(Colorado, NBA), Leslie McDonald(UNC), and Elliot Williams(Duke/Memphis, Project 1st round draft pick this year). And a sizable number of other D1 athletes. All while having way less amount of schools/students then public schools. Actaully, by ratio, the number of D1 athletes produced at private schools as opposed to public schools isnt even close. Privates have better ratio.

And if im not wrong, ensworth beat oakland in football(woulda thrashed them in bball), and crushed lavergne by like 30 in bball too? They beat the class A state cham by like 20, beat hillsboro by like 20. And on another note I know MBA beat a AA finalist in marshall county.

And to add on, ensworth beat lavergne by 30+....if im not mistaken, siegel just barely nicked by lavergne both times.(same thing for oakland...actually, the actually lost once)

BRAGGIN' much?

No public school mid-state pro hoops players? BULL!!!

Clarksville alone has 2 current NBA players and if Marquis Maybin hadn't been critically injured after college, you could make that 3. Not to mention the several public middle TN alums who played QB in the NFL.

(Holcombe, Matthews)
