(Although there may be a little debate that the Farragut-ND game was actually a 1-1 tie...mostly JV's were put in for a period at the end, and that is when ND scored...Coach Jim believed it was a tie)No biggie since it was a preseason game, but hate to take away that from the ND player who scored...)

I'm not sure what the debate would be. Varsity played a 60 minute game. JV played a 20 minute game. Do people really care about pre-season scores?

Uh-oh. Looks like we need to start a thread for running up the score after having posted only a few scores. :popcorneater:

Man! And we haven't even gotten into regular season yet!!! :roflol:

 

As far as caring about the scores for scrimmages...

 

It all depends on the mindset of the coach in the scrimmage. Most times, I played to see what I had. Some games (especially later in the pre season) I played "straight up" for at least one half, and sometimes a bit longer, but ultimately, they are supposed to be an evaluating tool. Too often, they are not.

 

I've lost quite badly in some scrimmages in the past, yet what mattered was how we ended, not how we began.
