How about the Fairview player that was ejected for fighting at the Jamboree. Was he a starter? and will it hurt them any when he has to sit out for the one game suspension. I was a little amazed that the referee just let the two boys fight as long as they did...sort of like a hocky game. He let it get out of control. The Heritage player is a senior.

NeWblue , he wasnt a starter but yes its a loss on the depth. He is a sophomore im pretty sure , an i think i heard he is ineligible to play varsity this year tssaa turned down hardship. he Is a transfer. But didnt hear till today if they were gonna pass it. an thats a NO. So cant play varsity this year, but that has nothing to do with the fight.

I was at the game and didn’t understand what the ruling on the field was. Can someone explain the ruling please. So here is what I saw. Long pass down field, ball was picked by Fairview somewhere around the 30 yard line, kid returns the ball back across midfield, REFAREE blows the play dead while the kid is still running down field at about the 25 yard line to an apparent TD because of the fight back at the 30 yard line where the ball was picked. How did they move the ball back to the spot of the fight (the 30) than mark off 15 yards against Fairview after both kids were kicked out????? Fairview's ball at say the 15. Please help me on this one. I talked to the ref on the Fairview side and he did confirm that the kid was still running when the ref blew it dead. I don't have a problem with the stoppage of play but if both were tossed it should be offsetting fouls and Fairview's ball on the yard line of the whistle.

i was there too , he blew the whistle way before the fairview player was tackled or scored. It was an inverted whistle. #10 got crack blocked for WHH thats what started the fight. he got up an started pushin the Fairview player. the wrestled arond an the Fairview player got on top an swung a few punches. if im not mistaking where the ball is when the whistle is blown is where the ball goes. an the personal fouls offset both player ejecteds. should have been fairview ball where the whistle was blown where the ball is spotted. Correct if im wrong ?????

I’m in full agreement. So it was a about a 55 yard mistake by the referee. I guess the only bright point in all of it was that it was a jamboree and there isn’t anything to be won or lost. Unless you’re the kid with the ball that make one heck of a return.

It could be a hit or miss year for the yellowjackets. They have a strong group of young kids that get a lot of snaps, which looks good in the coming years but could be hurtful this year when it comes to the playoffs. The yellowjackets came out last night and showed people the things they can do. It could be a great year and I hope the game last night was an indication that Fairview could make it past the 2nd round for the 1st time in School history. All I know is whether they are 4-6 or 10-0, they will play hard nose football and hit anyone and everyone in the mouth. Skit Em'.

We thought there was an additional block in the back called after the interception, at the spot of of the fight. The two offsetting personal fouls, then Fairview was charged with the illegal block in the back. I still think the referee let the fight last way too long...he didnt even make an effort to break it up. Just sort of stood there and watched. =) But I do beleive that was the ruling on the field.

Looks like the TSSAA rejected Fairview's admittance to join District 11-AA for the 2011 & 2012 seasons. As things stand right now District 11 will have 7 teams and District 12 will have 9 teams for the next 2 years after Summitt HS joins the varsity ranks. Something tells me that the TSSAA is going to move East Hickman to District 11 when all is said and done. They moved Sycamore away from both Harpeth & Cheatham County based on location. I see them doing the same to the schools in Hickman County as well. Lyles is geographically closer than Centerville.

They got it all the way they want it. If tssaa wanted to they could start a new district with closer schools , but i dont think the compitition would be that great good but not great . Fairview Harpeth Cheatham East Hick. Hickman Lewis could be in it . Maybe squeeze in Waverly thats 7 teams within a little more than a hour drive . 130 145 at the most, since theu said they wanted to reduce on distance teams travel. Just sayin its all about the money for them though (:

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
