Halls @ Powell

After two games, these two teams appear to be going in opposite directions. Powell dominated SD and Fulton, while Halls was edged by Clinton and shutout by SC. This game is always close - since 2000, this game has been decided by a touchdown or less every year (except 2001).

As good as Powell has been so far this year, I still think that Halls will give Powell everything they can handle on Thursday night. Powell has to be careful of a major letdown, especially after their win against Fulton, but I expect this coaching staff to have the Panthers mentally ready for this rivalry game.

What are everyone's thoughts on this game?

Although it pains me to even say this I just don't have that warm fuzzy feeling on this one and it could get real ugly before half-time. Intense rivalry and the passion of High school only goes so far. Eventually skill overcomes wishful thinking. Keeping this one close will be a tough task in itself but always doable.

Good luck Red Devils and be very hungry. :hungry:

Powell will roll in this game. The games between these 2 teams are usually close but powell is the much better team this year and i think they will dominate the game. Instead of a let down after the big fulton win i think they will be fired up and very confident in themselves and come out and show it agaisnt halls.

Just wondering what Powell's and Hall's strengths are this year. I know Halls has O'Laughlin, but I don't know much more about them and Powell I don't have a clue.

I was impressed with the Powell/Fulton outcome and it sounded like Powell had their way. Hall's looks a little out of sorts after the Sevier Co game. I know this game will be a battle though. Good luck to both teams.

When Halls and Powell play it doesn't matter what the records are, who is supposed to be the better team, or where the game is being played. It is always close. In fact, only once in the 2000s has the game been decided by double digits. Powell is 7-3 against Halls in the last 10, but their biggest margin of victory in those 7 wins has been 7 points. There is no reason to believe that Thursday night's game won't follow that same trend of close games.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
