This upcoming week marks the 10th time that Cheatham & Sycamore will meet up on the gridiron. In the first 9 meetings between these 2 bitter rivals Sycamore leads the series 6-3. The War Eagles victories have come in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 while the Cubs took the games in 2003, 2005, 2008. The last 2 matchups in Pleasant View have been decided by a total of 3 points with Sycamore winning 30-28 in 2006 & Cheatham winning 15-14 in 2008. Football fans from both the Ashland City and Pleasant View communities should come out for this one because it promises to be another great installment of what's quickly became a great rivalry in just one decade.

Cheatham (2-1; 1-0 in District 11-AA) enters the contest riding a 2 game winning streak in which they have averaged 47 points per game. Sycamore (1-2; 0-1 in District 9-AA) has seen their last 2 games decided by a total of 3 points (1-1 in those games).

The game can be heard over the world wide web at the Cheatham Cubs Fan Page and if you are in the stadium and want to listen to the broadcast check us out at WQSV AM790 to hear all of the LIVE action.

how do it know........how you been doing?

Still doing the broadcasts?

Hope CC knocks off the war eagles.....one of our favorite ex-opponents....8-1 record or something like that

Yes sir I am still doing the broadcasts. I miss those old Region 5-3A days because now we hardly ever play anyone who has another radio broadcast crew (outside of Smith County, Waverly, & Creek Wood) that I get the chance to socialize with on Friday nights throughout the season. Hope all is well with the Patriots!

The Cheatham @ Sycamore Game Notes are now posted for your viewing pleasure.

Although tomorrow is the start of the week it is also Tuesday which means that the game will just be 3 days away from tomorrow night. It will be a great battle between 2 very good football teams.

Good luck to the Cubs from Smith County.. You guys have a very good team, very strong running team along with a very physical team.

Thanks scooter. I had a source tell me today that they were tuning in to the Greenbrier-Sycamore radio broadcast last week and heard a broadcaster jokingly say "Cheatham beats up on another easy team" (or something in that context). I do not believe that East Robertson is a good team but I do feel that Stewart County has an opportunity to be a good team again this season. They have gone to the State Playoffs each of the last 3 years. Not too shabby in my book!

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
