Dang it, I missed out on an exciting game. Guess that may have been a good thing because I didn't have a difibulator handy . Not a good idea when you are a heart patient. Congrats to the players and coaches on an outstanding win. These boys will not give up and you can't teach that mentality because it comes from the heart. This team is destined to do some special things this yr.

Your a fool if you think before this game teams overlook or underestimate. People from everywhere, especially in 7-AAA, respect the heck out of Brentwood for having the stones to play three teams from 7-AAA. Kinda funny your all about moral victories now, sure wasnt the case earlier in the week.

ok well look at the predictions b4 this game and tell me that isnt overlooking Brentwood. and yeah brentwood will play the best teams in the state to challenge themselves for the state tournament so that they r ready for fierce competition we arent gonna be like ravenwood and play darn page or goodpasture. and it wasnt a moral victory we lost i know that. oakland got lucky an busted coverage and thats y they won, i know brentwood can make it to the bluecross bowl lets c if oakland can prove me wrong

Wouldn't be surprised to see these two teams meeting again real late in the season, and I mean, really late.

 

Like the last game late, I think these two teams go to opsite ends of the state to get to the finals.

The fans may have felt confident, but I doubt that the team overlooked Brentwood in any shape or form. Talk all you want about busted coverages and proving you wrong, fact is Oakland won, Brentwood lost, time to move on

I would not say got lucky. Oakland beat Brentwood like a drum before they took a siesta. Never did you think that the game was in jeopardy. Brentwood scored on a trick play, a great catch (after a stupid play by McAdoo) and a blown coverage. Even after B-wood took the lead you felt like there was too much time on the clock, as it turns out about 5 seconds too much.

Oakland may have got "lucky" on a busted coverage but it seems like Brentwood got lucky on all their touchdowns. A trick play, busted coverage, and a good but lucky catch. Oakland seems like the better team right now.

a trick play is still a play that works no excuse. and the catch in the endzone was good but it was no where near lucky that was skill to find the ball and go up over the defender and get it

Agreed on both points. The yardage totals were very close and despite being down 20-7 at half, Brentwood had outgained Oakland. All of which means nothing really. The verdict came down to the same thing so many games do: turnovers, special teams and big plays. The teams are closer than some of the Oakland foks would care to admit.
