Good list. Some thoughts:

1. Baylor: Winning without injured top scorer. Not an easy adjustment as much of play for last 2 years went through her one way or the other in very direct style. They switched to 4-2-3-1 before the injury and development of greater possession play seems to be paying off.

2. ND: Always scrappy, well coached. The just find a way.

3. GPS: This team is a surprise to me. Yes, they have the best goalkeeper in Chattanooga, but they are scoring more than I expected. Will this hold up as the season goes on?

4. Soddy: I think they should be #2 but this opinion will be validated or smashed after Tuesday game against ND.

8. McMinn: As mentioned above, major kudos to this team for the schedule they are playing. I have no idea if McMinn will ever have the depth needed to compete at a higher level, but they have a good thing going up there. Solid coaching, improving players, great facilities, and great fans. And I believe the coach is looking long term as there are lots of different kids getting in. This team is definately about getting better rather than worrying about wins now. Their regional competitors better be ready as they will get wins soon at someone's expense.

And how about this perfect soccer weather !!!! :popcorneater:

1. Agreed from what I saw in the last game Baylor playing good. Have seen a few teams in the past temporarily go without a key player and although they had to take a step back they took two leaps forward once the key player returned they had more diverse scoring strategy. (not sure of the nature of the injury, but I hope she is ok.)

8. Watched part of the McMinns Game today at Bearden and noticed many new faces on the field for McMinn. If rebuilding is the strategy many younger players spent some time on the field, good investment in their future. McMinn had a good shooter #10 go off the field for injury not sure how bad she is hurt.

Weather was incredible for soccer this weekend and Boomsday....

I think you have th right teams on the list, but I might juggle the order based on what I have seen thus far.

1..Baylor - until someone breaks the spell. They ar mor versatile and dagerous than ever without Thomas and are playing more like a team.

2..Soddy Daisy - too good to ignore and getting stronger. They could be the ones to topple Baylor.

3..Fighting Leprechauns - physical and scrappy, creative

4..CCS - Lots of depth and drive

5..Signal Mtn - coming together well, strong individual players and will get better as they gain confidence

6..GPS - usually one of the best strategic teams, not seeing it this year, unorganized and quick to panic

7..Cleveland - haven't seen them yet

8..McMinn Co. - haven't seen them yet

9..E. Hamilton - haven't seen them yet

10..The Wah/Hixson - only seen them once, disappointed

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
