I'll be apart of a FCHS caravan traveling to this game. Any suggestions on places to eat, that isn't extremely fast food? Maybe a local place?

I expect FCHS to establish the running game against WC, and control the clock and the tempo. We are a better team than the Shelbyville game showed...FC just decided to start playing after they were down 14-0. I want to see our defense stiffen a little this week.

I'm ready for a little food, a short drive, and a good football game! Good luck to Warren County!

GO REBELS.

Wc defense is giving up about 30 per game and the offense is only scoring about 12. If we are going to win this, the defense has got to start playing up front and not relying on the safety's to make all the tackles. I like the direction that the offense is going but I'm afraid it's going to be a long road trip.

Unlike you, I DO NOT, like the direction the offense is going. It's clear, to me, that winning, THIS YEAR, is of no great importance, and we are sacrificing some of our seniors, who have stuck it out their entire high school career. Our best chance of moving the football, and keeping our defense off the field, is to put our best playmakers in the backfield, and that means Thrower at QB !!!! The option of Thrower being able to escape pressure and run the football, when things break down in the passing game, is not to be under-estimated. Let playmakers make plays, and that means Thrower, Northcutt and Martin. And for the moran who said Thrower was a better player in the 8th grade than he is now as a senior ?????? C'Mon MAN !!! Are you serious !!!! The only chance this team will resemble a high school football team is to put the load on our senior group ( who knows how to win football games) and give our defense a fighting chance, otherwise , if we stay with the status quo, Franklin Co. will beat us by 30 points.

Well to both of yall have you read the Standard lately. I mean seriously I didn't realize we had NFL right here in Warren Co. People are acting like these boys have aged, lost it all and been traded for some younger much less able guys. It's another joke of Warren Co. politics and just plain stupidity. Come on these guys are in high school. Let them enjoy their youth and learn not be treated like a bunch of back biting adults. We wonder why our kids turn on each other. Look what a good group of folks we have leading them into the future. These boys have worked for a pay off of getting to play only to have some younger untrained person come in to replace them so we can have a good team in the future--where is the pay off for the current boys??? It's a game, a sport. It shouldn't be a sport about offending the youth. They should not have this type of pressure placed on them--they should be able to play in the position they have worked hard to obtain and each and every member of the team should support that and do the best they can to win TODAY not in the future for their coaches.

i promise you the coaches want to win this year. come to practices and watch what kids put in practice. watch the game films and see what kids are giving 100 percent every play, then make your decison. the kids dont turn on each other with out parents influenceing them. where is the politics you speak of. the kids of today dont care as much as they should. i know kids that when the coach is speaking they are worried about just hurring up and getting to there girlfriends, buddies,or just getting out of there as quick as they can. so just come tp practices and watch for youthen make a honest decision. THE COACHES ARE NOT GIVING UP ON THIS YEAR. Edited by bburch

It's about putting the best 11 on the field. If some younger guys work harder in practice and earn that spot then so be it.

So thats the explanation for Friday night. Whew thanks for clearing that up. As I said this is not the NFL. I have seen first hand how WC comes out to support their team even in out of town games. But then I read the paper and have to say are they supporting our team or are they supporting their need to put people down. Thats our team. I've made a point of looking at the other teams paper, guess what it's not a bunch of NFL stats it's about how it went down on the level of a high school team. Thats my point. These are teens not grown men getting a paycheck!

So are you mad at the coaches or the paper??????? Or the younger guys for working harder????? Everybody was ready to run last years offense out of town when really we should be running it now. At least the players knew what to and it was successful last year. But I like the idea that in a couple of years we will able to run the spread and pass da ball!!

GO PIONEERS!! GO TEAM !! GO EACH AND EVERY KID ON THE TEAM!!

Momma always said if you dont have anything good to say dont say anything at all so I am stopping here and maybe some of you should also ....

GO PIONEERS!

Well my point exactly---these are kids and people are talking like they are pros getting a paycheck. Let them be kids!! It's a lot of pressure to put on kids to have adults running them down all over the place. Kids in school today won't get anything out of what happens here 4 years from now. We as a county need to be behind OUR kids!!! and that means growing our current SR players too! They don't deserve to be given up on NONE of them!

First of all 14pioneers I do think the coaches want to win this year and second of all "Thank You" for defending our senior group! A new coaching staff needs to get younger players experience. Everybody is taking shots at the Seniors and especially my son. I believe the senior group is representing the Pioneers well. They have scored every TD and a senior is leading the team in tackles. Maybe they need to step up and be better leaders and lead by example! No Doubt! Appreciate the new coaches wanting then to work hard everytime out on the field! But to say they were better in the 8th grade shows ignorance. They were 7-3 as freshmen and went to a bowl game and beat Riverdale that year 48-21. They started thier sophomore year and made the playoffs and was defeated in the first round by Oakland, who went on to win the state and we posted the most points on them in the playoffs. Three of them made all region players last year and that is voted on by the opposing coaches. Thier play speaks for itself!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
