Unlike you, I DO NOT, like the direction the offense is going. It's clear, to me, that winning, THIS YEAR, is of no great importance, and we are sacrificing some of our seniors, who have stuck it out their entire high school career. Our best chance of moving the football, and keeping our defense off the field, is to put our best playmakers in the backfield, and that means Thrower at QB !!!! The option of Thrower being able to escape pressure and run the football, when things break down in the passing game, is not to be under-estimated. Let playmakers make plays, and that means Thrower, Northcutt and Martin. And for the moran who said Thrower was a better player in the 8th grade than he is now as a senior ?????? C'Mon MAN !!! Are you serious !!!! The only chance this team will resemble a high school football team is to put the load on our senior group ( who knows how to win football games) and give our defense a fighting chance, otherwise , if we stay with the status quo, Franklin Co. will beat us by 30 points.

put Thrower at QB you will still lose by 30, middle school football and high school football are not even close to the same. But nice try. Oh and its moron not Moran. I really wish Coach would put Thrower at QB so maybe we could all move on to another excuse why they are losing. Thrower can't do it all by himself. I doubt Thrower being QB would solve all the problems and put WC in a no. 1 slot.

Thrower is a player! He might screw around during the week but when the lights come on Friday night he is ready to play and its a **** a lot better than we have had the last 3 games. Give the boy a shot!!!

I agree put him in! But he can't do it by himself. The O line will have to show up or its not gonna matter whose QB. Just curious after all these years of him being QB why all of the sudden he's not????? Why????

O-line is prob the biggest disappointment this year. I don't know why but it is. We looked pretty good in the 7 on 7 this summer but thats only 2 hand touch. Maybe the head coach needs to put a little time coaching them up.

Maybe right! No one player can be that big of a difference in a football team. Being a QB is alot more than passing the ball! More than you will ever understand!

From what the I have been told the main reason for Throwers lack of PT is his lack of effort durning plays. I am really disappointed in him.

The lines biggest issue is the freshman kid. He gets blowed up alot. IMO put Robinson,Rose, and Curtis on one side and run behind them.

Our D looks decent at this time. Turner is getting whipped alot but other than that our D is ok.

I think keep the ball on the ground and run behind Robinson and manage the game and keep playing D tough.

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
    • Mistakes like that should never happen.
