Waverly Central at Montgomery Central

Montgomery Central (5-4) has secured a playoff spot due to their 7-0 victory over Harpeth this past week. If the Indians win this one they could finish 6-4 and potentially cap off a magical season by earning themselves a 1st Round home playoff game in Week 11. Congrats to Coach Bragg and the Indians on a great season. I am sure you have proved the majority of the state wrong by qualifying for the state playoffs for the first time since 2004.

The Indians have totally bought into the program that has been established by Coach Bragg and his staff. This team has a different attitude then in previous years. Winning games has had a lot to do with that. The school and community support is still great as usual. This team has one thing on its mind this week and that is to get some revenge on the Tigers of Waverly. The Indians lost last year at Waverly on a couple of late miscues that ended up costing them the game. A win and they are assured of a play-off berth and hopefully hosting a state play-off game. That is something I believe they have never done. Indians 24-7.

Montgomery Central is currently the #5 seed in Q-3. They would go play Chester County, the #4 seed, on the road if the playoffs were to begin today.

With that said however.....

Greenbrier is the #3 seed and they play Goodpasture this week.

Chester County is the #4 seed and they play Liberty Tech this week.

Montgomery Central is the #5 seed playing Waverly Central in this contest.

If Montgomery Central wins and both Goodpasture & Liberty Tech take care of business then Montgomery Central will be a #3 seed.

What a mess the TSSAA has built!! Your assessment is correct, however, with the Obion County win over Ripley last night, there could be a monkey wrench thrown in. If Montgomery Central and Chester County lose, Obion County would move into the #4 seed and would host #5. Montgomery Central can insure they host with a win tonight. Looks like if they lose, they will travel. Does this look right to you? I have a headache!! lol
