YellowJacket55
Hunter added to his totals Friday night. 6 catches 130 yards 2 TDs 1 rushing TD 1 Interception Keep campaigning Gerry, we need more people to jump on the Hunter Branch Bandwagon. Listen people, hunter is a quality athlete, but like Gerry said, an even better person and student. Hopefully, he gets your votes. He deserves it ten-fold. furious1247
Kicker/Punter Zac Phillips(Happy Valley)Also plays LB/WR. While the opportunity to kick field goals in games are few (1/2), he has been cosistantly kicking from 50+ yards in practice with the longest being 55 yds. His Kickoffs are usually kicked into the endzone with an almost 5 second hangtime. He won the Three Rivers Conference Kicking contest. He won the punting contest with a 51 yard punt. I'm sure he's a great kicker but I'm pretty sure practice doesn't count. And The 3 Rivers Conference is kinda short on kickers this year ain't it???I mean Betsy's kicker is a girl.... Whether it be coaches mentality or just fate, a lot of athletes don't get the opportunity to show what they have in the game. I listed the practice distances just to convey he does have the leg. He just needs the chance. His kickoffs do speak for themselves. Against Sullivan East 7 out of 8 kickoffs were touchbacks, with one going thru the uprights. Betsy's kicker, Christine Hardin, being just a sophomore, does have a pretty good leg on her. She is fundalmentally sound. I would like to see what she can do as she matures . barb
I think Christine is amazing but she's a girl and pretty much physically as mature as she's gonna get... If she stays focused she will continue to improve but won't ever have the power that a guy with comparable skill.

The only wild card being, kicking is not about having the strongest leg. It is all about foot speed and leg swing. If leg strentgh was the only factor, then most of the offensive lineman would be doing the kicking. This probably is not the right forum, but while I have your attention, What's up with the Greene Co. schools this year. WG looked unbeatable, then they get tripped by Unaka. SG looks tough, but then WG handles them. CD looks tough, but then gets schooled by SG. What's going on down there?
