I believe Oak Ridge gets the W and moves on to the 3rd round. Don't believe anyone would have expected that after week 9? Oak Ridge 24 Bradley Central 20

Hmm a 9-2 team seeded first who averages 30 points at home. They have home field advantage currently ranking 10th in the state for 6A . I heard that the turn out was pretty weak after the hail and rain last week, but don't be fooled. Bradley will fill the stands this week. (I haven't visted Bradley when they didn't.) I got to put my money on Bradley, if I was a betting man. They have only allowed an average of 15.5 points scored by their opponents each game at home.

Of course this is the playoffs and anything could happen, but seriously, Bradley has everything in their favor.

I still say Bradley by 14, if not worse.

Yeah but if you look at their schedule it not very impressive. A loss to Loudon (good 3a team) & a loss to a decent Cleveland team. Then you barely beat a bad Walker Valley team. Oak Ridge had a lot tougher schedule and that's why I like them in this game. Just my opinion.. Guess we will see on Friday.

You don't go 9-2 and win your region unless you are an excellent team.

Have you looked at that region? With McMinn and Ooltewah disappearing from the scene, circumstances dictated that someone had to fill the void. Credit Bradley for being that team, but I think it's safe to say the record is misleading.

Bears make it to the third round and win by 17 points.

That's a line I'd jump at were it possible.

I've heard good and bad with this Bradley team. Based on their film, they play well. Obviously, their record supports that... Or does it? Their schedule didn't seem as tough as OR's. But, the Friday night lights will prove the victor. I'm hesitant, but I have to go with OR to pull it out in a close one. Good luck to both teams!

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
