Can someone explain this seeding?

OK, I have read the replies and what it boils down to is this: no one has a cotton picking clue how the crazy system works.

Whitey, it's a lot like the College BCS system. There are equations that seat the schools, basic strength of schedule, wins against teams with winning records and losses against teams with losing records, and a lot of other stuff. Your's isn't the only scenario like that - in our quad Tyner was 7-0 in their district and beat Howard who was 6-1 in the district, both teams were 8-2 on the year, but Howard was seeded 5th and Tyner 6th. Loudon was 7-3 and finished 3rd in their district but was seeded 4th. Meaning Loudon played at home and Tyner played on the road in the first round.

What most are saying is right, although it makes no sense, it is what it is. You had mentioned the District champ being a higher seed, well one to think about was Coffee County at 3-7 winning their district, don't know that a 3-7 team deserves to play at home, so not sure that is the right thing either.

As wrong as it might be it is still the system we have in place. It seems fitting that to advance past the '8-AAA' playoff quadrant you have to go through Columbia, the defending champ.

The fields are the same dimension in both places. Both have concession stands and rest rooms and cheerleaders and such. This game will not be won or lost because of location, but yet because of which team plays the best.

Let there be no excuses, only maximum effort. All possibilities are open

Are you in politics? You can't decide which side of the fence to stand on.
