Heck, we'll have a great time. It's the parts North of ya'll & South of us that have a bit of "Yankee" flavor to 'em. ;) We'll tailgate & have a blast with ya'll. Congrats to both teams for going this far and representing the two best teams in 5A. My prediction? 17-14 H'ville.

GO COMMANDOS!

Anybody remember the Columbia Spiegel auction where the guy used to give $100 bills to the kids? That was fun. But we still gotta take State, sorry... ;)

as long as hendersonville don't try to run it straight at columbia, they might win. Columbia's line will wear down hendersonville by the 4th, giving columbia the win.

The Columbia Lions' linemen will not wear down either the D-line nor the O-line of the Commandos...! I will not make a "score prediction" but this I can guarantee!!

If this game is close I'll give H-ville the edge. Townsend is the real deal. It's a shame they don't break Mr. Football in to all 6 classes he is really deserving. H-ville has had to rely on special teams for it's last 2 victories but teams that are able to do that usually are the ones standing in the end. I strongly dislike H-ville but they have really come together as a team this playoff push. As a Green Wave fan it's the 2nd verse same as the 1st... The last team to beat Beech last season was Gallatin in the regular season and it appears the last team to beat H-ville will be Gallatin this season. Both teams put Gallatin out in the playoffs. This is possibly the best game match up wise of all the Title games from Thursday through Saturday. This could be one of those 10-9 or 7-0 or maybe even 3-0 games. Again if it is this close I'll go with H-ville. ( I really don't like saying that.) :thumb:

Columbia has an awesome team...offense, defense, special teams. Their only weakness is

field goals..they need to give up on that already.

The Commandos are a good team. Not great but good. I would say HHS and GHS is about equal.

IMHO-Beech was the best team this year but losing their QB hurt them at the end.

Have not seen Columbia play since the State Championship last year. ig If I remember correctly, big time plays won it for Beech last year.

Should be a great low scoring game.

Good Luck Commandos!

Someone said earlier that the Columbia line would wear down the HHS line.......

They obviously haven't seen the front of HHS's O and D. If the boys from Columbia can wear down HHS then they are all stud's. HHS is big, strong, and most of all athletic. The two ILB's in HHS's 50 defense can go sideline to sideline as well as stuff anything you bring up the gut. If you wanna play Big on Big against HHS you better bring a full lunch and some leftovers from last nights dinner too!

I'm glad you're confident in HHS's line, both "D" and "O" line. I'm telling you though, Columbia's line, both sides, are one of the best, if not the best in the state. I'm no Columbia fan, as a matter of fact, I really don't like them much at all. The team that I follow didn't even make it to the playoffs and being that it's only a 35 minute drive from my house to Columbia I went to watch them against AC, Catholic, and Tullahoma. AC didn't impress me much. Catholic line was HUGE to say the least. Pretty athletic as well, but Columbia had their way with the Kerbyson kid and the other linemen. I wasn't easy but Columbia handled them. Tullahoma's offensive line was huge too just not as athletic as Catholic's. Columbia had their way with them as well. The one thing that stands out about their line play is how well those big kids move. I've not HHS. I do know they have a kid that can play. I think the difference is that Columbia has 6 big kids that play at the next level. Not to mention the 2 huge backs they have. Good luck to Hendersonville.

This is gonna be one for the books. Im not too familiar with columbia but from what I hear this game is gonna be a pure trench fight. Cammen Russel, Joe Townsend, and Brady Kelly are gonna have there hands full but i believe they are gonna overtake the lions line. I cant wait to see this dog fight, hendersonville has fallen short in the past however third time is the charm. GO COMMANDOS

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
