mustang, you are a little late--already owned up to typing ahead of my thoughts. As far as Clifton, yes he did play meaningful minutes. He started and played at least 3/4 to 2/3 of the game. First half we were a bit out of sync offensivly, but we got clicking in the second half.

After many years of posting and reading CoachT (from the beginning days of this website) I have avoided these message boards for the last several years due to the lack of mentality displayed by some of the posters.

 

For those of you who read and/or post to these boards regularly, please ignore the posts by VandyChris - although he claims to have all knowledge of Summertown, it is obvious that he has no clue.

 

I can assure you that he has no insight or knowledge about anything about which he posts. Those of us who are long-time Eagle fans (and former players), parents of players and knowlegeable about not only the current teams, but the history of the teams and District/Region would never post anything like those that VandyChris seems to do on a regular basis. I do not know who VandyChris is, but I can tell you that, based on the incorrect information he (I assume it is a he) regulary posts, it is obvious that he is, at best, a novice.

 

So again, please take those posts, and the information shared, with a grain of salt.

Well Vandy may not be the most knowledgable but he has definitely been Stowns biggest fan on this site.

I have no problem with Vandy, or any other fan, posting - but keep the subject and tone to that of a Fan - and don't try to act like you have more knowledge of the game/team, etc. than just a fan.

 

Also, if anyone wants to post on this site, then put your real name in your profile - do not hide behind a screen name. If you want to know who I am - go to my profile and you will see my name. This keeps posters from hiding behind their keyboard ....and eliminates the idiotic posts.

Or that my kids who have class with him didn't tell me anything about it? I don't claim to be an 'insider' I simply post info as it igiven to me. Also, I don't ha the long time ties as you may--I came to the area on May 25th, 1990 and have followed the Eagles since that time.. I also have opinions as to who our best player re and just to let you know, in my early adult life I did win awards for scholastic sports journalism.

First of all, Sports journalism awards are sorta like "ordained minister" certifications that you order off the internet - they mean nothing. While you may post, as you say "info as it is given to me" - the fact is that you consistently, and repeatedly, post incorrect information - you make incorrect statements about current and former players - and you do nothing but harm to the team you claim to so avidly support.

 

You obviously have no background, or personal experience, that would qualify you to make the statements or analysis that you try to make - as anyone with any common sense about coaching or the sport of basketball would not make the statements you make.

 

Your statements about the history of the program and the District are laughable. I particularly like the statement you made recently about how the Maury County Class A teams having never been in District 12-A - that is blatantly incorrect and another example of how you do not know what you are talking about.

 

At times, you also like to call out coaches and players by name, yet, as I stated before, you continue to hide behind a screen name and do not put your own name out there.

I know who you are, Mr. Franks, and I respect you very much--so much so that I even voted for you. You and your family have been great for Summertown. That said, this shouldn't be made personal. It is simply a difference of opinions. I do not claim to be an insider at Summertown. I reply to questions with what I have been told by other people. If it is incorrect, I will gladly take being corrected and if I catch a mistake that I have made, I will correct it myself.

The issue of the Maury County teams being in district 12A, you have paraphrased and taken what I said totally out of context. Clearly I stated that during the times that I have been around this area and followed what the teams were doing that I do not remember them being in the district. On that board, the person saying that they were could be correct, but you have to admit that during the early 90's, the time period i am talking about, it was in fact a 5 team district tournament. The question that was posed, I answered to the best of my knowledge--that I do not recall, during my time following the teams, Summertown girls not making it to the regionals. If you have better knowledge, please share this.

As far as coaches, I have my opinions about who are good coaches and who are not. Sorry that the coach I have mentioned on this board does not impress me--I have seen much greater, not only in Tennessee but also in Iowa. I dont think he is the best coach in this district--again, my opinion.

As far as players, if I think a player is on the selfish side, that is my opinion. In fact, I have even said that a certain #32 that you know well is IN MY OPINION the best defensive player in the district?
