Love to see updated scores to the games listed.

I'm guessing the Harpeth/CA games was rained out. Any update on when they will play?

We've had our own problems with the CA program in recent years. And many of your sentiments are shared throughout the district.

It'd be nice to get those red cards confirmed. We play CA tomorrow and, hopefully, if they did happen, those players will sit. I wouldn't put it past them to try and ignore the 2 game suspension. (Especially since it is a district contest.)

I wasn't surprised to read of issues with this program. I had heard rumors of the headcoach at CA being gone.

I witnessed extreme poor sportsmanship from this team last year at the district tournament even though they won and were winning throughout the game. Afterwards some of their players were on top of their short bus jumping up and down taunting the team they had just beaten. Could have gotten ugly fast if it had not been for the true sportsmanship shown by one the defeated players who approached and shook hands with one of their players. Wow- what a kid.

And after seeing a select team CA's headcoach has in the fall in tournament play bring in ringers from West Tennessee to "compete" in the lowest bracket and bench his regular players for entire games and beat the ever living daylights out of U12 or U13 teams- like 12-0? There is evidence of poor sportsmanship. It all speaks for itself. Kids will be kids- adults know better and should be held to a high standard and enforce fair play and sportsmanship.

When did CoachT forums become a place for the constant bashing of other programs and coaches/players. Seriously. You speak so knowledgeably of the CA program yet you have no kid playing in it. I was at our Senior Night last when and witnessed our Coach not only play his entire senior roster (3 of whom are not starters) for the majority of the game, but also played all 19 players on the roster in a game that was not a blowout but surprisingly competitive. On a night to remember he made sure EVERYONE was part of the proceedings. Had he played his usual starters the game would have been a lot more than 4:1 most probably. As a CA parent I can tell you the vast majority of all the parents and ALL the kids love playing for him, and the success we have had on the field has reiterated that he is doing something right.

With regards the incident you describe with the 'short bus' last year. The player in question was quitley reprimanded about his behavior, but as you point out "kids will be kids"... They had just won their first district tournament in 15 years and a little teenage exuberance is to be expected. That night you will remember, the CA Program not only took home the District Title but were honoured with THREE individual awards, all voted on by the coaches in the district. They won District Player of the Year, District Offensive Player of the Year and what was the other.... Oh that's right, COACH of the YEAR. Coach Sonnabend may not be everyones favorite Coach because of his larger than life persona on the sidelines, but he is respected apparently by his peers because of his ability to win games and develop programs.

With regards to his 'select' team and them bringing in 'ringers'.... Perhaps you again may want to ask HIM about what happened at that tournament, not make judgements from the safety of the sidelines and rumor mills. I know as a club soccer parent myself I have seen teams mismatched through no fault of their own in tournaments. As a coach all you can do is beat the team that is put in front of you, but I have observed enough of him at both club and HS soccer to know when a game is getting out of control he moves players around, gives them scoring restrictions and even takes players out to play short handed.

Let's get this forum back to sharing results and scouting info and less about bashing programs, coaches and players. If you have observations about people you don't know then keep them to yourself.

So predictions for the District Tournament anyone? Who all do ya think will make up the Final FOUR?

Can I just say, regardless of the content, I think it's great that this District is actually being talked about. There's a lot of talent and a lot of good competition. It just usually gets overshadowed by the other half of the region. Speaking of which, haven't seen or heard much about the Metro Monster that is District 9. Does that mean 10 stands a chance this year? It's been a while since one of our small, country schools did anything past districts. When WH-Heritage went to state a few years back, it was a lot of fun to watch.

As far as the District tournament goes...Any team is going to have trouble with CA and Harpeth. They basically have the West #1 and #2 locked up and their game on the 27th is gonna be a big one. The East is a log jam and every game usually means a lot of movement in the standings. Don't know a lot about the teams, but the ones we've played have all been physically tough and that can get you somewhere in the postseason.

Later that evening...

Okay, looked it up. Here's how District 9 looks right now. Have to figure CPA is gonna win a lot of their final games. Maybe someone who knows more will venture in and give us some insight.

MLK 3-1-1

Lipscomb 3-1-0

Goodpasture 2-2-2

Hume-Fogg 2-2-1

Stratford 2-0-2

CPA 2-0-0

Maplewood 0-3-0

East Lit 0-3-0

    • Hey Turtle did you see Stanton on channel 10 last at 11:00? He did a good job selling AE's need for new facilities. Looks like they are gonna get them. Glad for them!
    • I heard they have most of their team coming back. Who is the next coach?  Also, what about Chester County? That one has been open for a while.  Gibson County also???
    • Marion had no answer for groves last year and he’s added a lot of weight since last year already. And the other groves Marion couldn’t block…he’ll be back.
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
