kayjay
I'm afraid one of the best guards in the state may be overlooked because she doesn't play for a very strong team, and it is a Single A team. She is Cortney Brothers of Unionville. Her skills and abilities are outstanding. She could probably play for any team in the state.
givbakr2
Candace Lightford a junior at Pearl Cohn is probably the least known but one of the most talented guards in Middle Tn. area. She plays on a weak but promising high school team and her AAU team didn't give her much exposure but the girl can play with the best of them!!! hockeytown
Giles Co.-Jessica Russell, can shoot, handle the ball and is very quick. Can shoot the 3 best in the state. Richland also has a girl who is outstanding, also Cascade has a girl who do it all. Huntland has Hillary Bauer and the Smith girl who together make an awsome duo. baller121
Posted by phislammajamma:Posted by DUKEJR:And the best backcourt in the state goes to. . . . . Oak Ridge! Angela Phillips is THE point guard, but you have to give props to Jennifer Hendericks too. She would be point guard at any other school, but had to move to the 2 since OR already has a stand-out point. Both of these girls are small but have BiG heart and know how to win. Jennifer Hendricks has worked very hard in the off season, and will produce this year for her team. If any of you know Jennifer well enough, she'll be ready to play. She has heart and a great work ethic. She can "shoot the rock" and will show you this year. She's gonna be a great player/
LadyDawgs23
Deanna Donaldson (of course) and Megan Hamilton from Celina will be two of the best guards this year.
me
Abby Fanning should be mentioned in this list. She knows a lot about the game and gets the ball where it needs to be. She also gets it done on the defensive end.
govolz
Allie Smith for BEECH is a real sleeper for this thread's subject. Right before BEECH started to make there run to the STATE Tourney last year. She stepped up and was making plays and running the offense flawlessly for them. Personally I think that she made the real differance for them during that period. She is a wonderful young ladie and a real asset to their team. I wish her & BEECH good luck again this year! smalltown
Laura Hall is spectacular, as good as I've seen in a long time. Heritage has a freshman named Katie McMahan that is unreal. That program has a great tradition, and they say she will be the best to ever come through there, and they've had several D-1 signees. Guest oakdalefan
These are all on my school's team (Oakdale) but they are awesome! Lyndsey Horton, Rachel Ruppe,Chelsey Summers, Morgan Byrge, and Whitney Snow are all very good players. they can ball! Rachel can sink a shot anywhere. Same with Morgan Byrge. Everyone else are exellent at guarding. well i gotta go. [Edited by oakdalefan on 10-28-02 8:09P]
